Barack Obama claims to be seeking a balanced solution to our impending fiscal disaster. He proposes we raise taxes now and talk about spending cuts later. Sound familiar? Ask Ronald Reagan, or George H.W. Bush how similar bargains worked out for them.

I believe that the way that Congressional budgeting works is: if you propose taxes or cuts for the next year – those taxes/cuts must be specific; but if you say that you will cut spending/raise taxes X-billion four years from now – you don’t have to be specific, just by saying that you will cut spending equals an identified spending cut.
Everything must be accounted for in the same year. And yes, you would think that Republicans would not be so forgetful/stupid to believe that the same thing won’t happen again.
Just say no.
