Sgt. Reckless

NY Post Sunday book review: Sgt. Reckless was a mongolian mare purchased in Korea to take military equipment up the Korean hills during the war. Received two purple hearts, liked to drink beer, and was promoted to USMC Sergeant after the war.

Story is a nice antidote to Pres. Feckless, present and unaccounted for, Sir.

An animal who was as much a hero as any human, as opposed to a human who is a donkey’s butt as our leader.

I heard the author Robin Hutton talk about this wonderful Marine in a radio interview. She said horses are pack animals and thus fit naturally into the Corps and the Marines in turn respected her dedication and valor. I also loved how she enjoyed a brew with the troops after a battle. She did her duty with courage and grace – a true American hero.
