“Many Americans, watching the nation they've known and loved crumbling, have often considered moving to Texas because of its reputation for freedom and solid traditional values.
Well, they might want to reconsider that.
Home, home on the range … where Allah is the Creator … Boston Tea Party patriots are terrorists … and the curriculum is kept secret from parents by law …”
What a disaster! From what I can glean from the article, it appears that this private company sold school districts on their product which is electronic lessons, which will go beyond textbooks (and likely would cost less than textbooks), so 70% of Texas school districts bought it. But the company doesn’t allow the e-lesson material to be made public! The kids’ parents are not allowed to see the lesson material, the school boards are not allowed to see the lesson material, and the teachers must sign a gag order that they will not disclose the lesson material.
This is where lack of transparency kills everything. Must be for public openness above all. You can not buy something that will remain hidden. I don’t care what the ‘great price’ you got on the deal.
