None of this is needed. Everything positive that is written about, can be done without any legislation or exec. order. Only purpose of legislation/exec. order is theater – Gov’t has done something, you’re saved! Baloney.

Companies and gov’t agencies have an interest in protecting their assets against cybersecurity without any legislation. But that doesn’t mean that cyber hacks won’t find ways to defeat protections, they will. So the real answer is multiplicity and diversity in networks. They costs money and companies and especially gov’t agencies (water, etc.) aren’t going to increase the cost of essential services (in essence, a tax) volunarily. So if legislation is passed, that allows them to spend oodles of money on diverse backup systems that can be passed on to you, the consumer/tax payer. And even then, not all areas will be protected because we can’t think of everything before the hackers do. So this is a big boondogle tax that will at most only moderately make things better protected.

You are absolutely right. Everything is about the poor, the children, or our “protection.” It is all a ruse. I don’t believe this is about “security” at all. What Bush did nothing about cyber security after 9/11?? Not buying it. I believe this is just another attempt to control the internet and power sources in case of an “emergency.” They couldn’t get it through Congress, so time to go for another Ex. Order. I don’t trust this Pres. at all, and know he will stop at nothing to get re-elected and ram his Communist agenda down our throats.

I for one, listening to the excerpts of the DB’s speech came to the conclusion that he isn’t lying, just like I figured he wasn’t lying with Joe the Plumber-he thinks he’s been wildly successful implementing the “transformation” of the economy and the society.
Now he wants to implement another Big Brother executive order and you know what, it’s just another cog in that wheel of transformation that he has been upfront about since 2008.

I will say again, given the hatred of us that our president harbors, this will not be good!
