You may not be fabulously wealthy, but you can support a family; you can buy a home; make sure your kids are doing good and they can go to college; have something left over for retirement; have health care you can count on; maybe take a vacation once in a while — (laughter) — just the basics and knowing that you're part of a community that is growing for everybody, not just some.

    Disney World is offering to raise starting employee wage from $8/hr to $10/hr in 2016. But along with that, Disney wants to change the pension for new hires from defined benefit to defined contribution. That proposed pension change is why Disney is offering a 25% increase in starting salary. Mentioning in case, Obama starts touting Disney as a reason why Congress should raise the minimum wage.
