Indiana high school’s security upgrades earn ‘safest’ tag
Feb 23, 2018 @ 3:28 am - rtthorneIt's time we get creative and tough with our schools. Looks like this school is ahead of the curve.
We also need to mimic the program that arms our airline pilots. That program is annonomous, voluntary, and only costs the pilots their time for training and re qualifications. It's focused on scenarios in confined spaces and we could develop similar protocol for a school sceanario to train teachers and other school employees. Some punk ass would think twice before acting if he might think the janitor, kitchen aid or teacher might be armed. -

Race and IQ Science Project from my old school!
Feb 12, 2018 @ 2:29 pm - ricknagasawaC. K. McClatchy High School includes in its alumni, Justice Anthony Kennedy, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tami Cantil-Sakauye, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and me. I am the outlier. The latest uncomfortable rumbling from my old school is a mini science fair project. The student attempts to link lower average IQ scores among certain racial groups versus higher average IQ scores among different racial groups and its effect on the proportion of the racial groups in the Humanities and International Studies Program, or HISP. In what could have been an object lesson in logic, correlation vs. causation, construct validity, confirmation bias, other factors not accounted for it in a small study, inherent error in measurement, etc; it is a social justice warrior problem. The student's study was taken down. It hurt too many feelings. You may not hear much about this controversy because the student was “of Asian descent”. That might conflict the social justice warriors on what side to pick. I am curious to see what the results were and how any conclusions were drawn. Alas, it was memory holed for the sake of safe spaces.
