Secret Service Catch Mexican Official Nabbing White House BlackBerries
Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera by Secret Service pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans, FOX News has learned.
Sources with knowledge of the incident said the official, Rafael Quintero Curiel, served as the lead press advance person for the Mexican Delegation and was responsible for handling logistics and guiding the Mexican media around at the conference. He took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel where the Mexican delegation was meeting with President Bush earlier this week…
Sources said Quintero Curiel made it all the way to the airport before Secret Service officers caught up with him. He initially denied taking the devices, but after agents showed him the DVD, Quintero Curiel said it was purely accidental, gave them back, claimed diplomatic immunity and left New Orleans with the Mexican delegation.
And the White House reaction to what should be considered an act of spying?
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to discuss the incident, telling FOX News, “We are aware of the situation, but as it’s under investigation by law enforcement officials, we will decline to comment.”
Of course you will, honey.
Nothing will happen.
Look at it like this: When the Clintons and their cronies looted the White House as they were leaving – even going so far as removing the “W” buttons from White House keyboards – nothing happened.
Why should we believe anything will happen over this?
Was this simple theft or espionage? The claim of diplomatic immunity is very disturbing… Of course the White House doesn’t want to offend the pro-illegal-immigration camp so they are not going to press this issue.
Mexico should come clean as to whether it is just a kleptomaniac diplomatic employee or they needed the information off the SIM cards for spying.
At one time I laughed at the thought of building a concrete MOAT separating our countries…now I think we need not only a moat but also a Claymore mine field and U.S. troops (NOT National Guard, but the Regulars). Oh yes, and lets have all Mexican (and for that matter all our enemy nations) diplomats under full security observation by the wonderful Secret Service.
Yeah…I may sound like a “wing-nut” but I am not…I am just a Libertarian Patriot who has had enough!
Oh lets not get too worked up about this everyone . This is like when the Grinch was caught by Cindy Lou Who as he was stealing the Christmas tree . He was just going to take the tree to his workshop and fix the broken lightbulb and then bring it back .
Curiel was just going to take the Blackberries to Mexico , clean and shine them and then bring them back ! Is there any reason for us not to believe that ?
They won’t be able to use it, anyway…there’s no upside-down question marks an exclamation points on it.
