Maynard solves everything

Bear with me. I’m about to save the nation.

We’ve got to do cap and trade. The world demands it. If we don’t do cap and trade, we’re worse than Hitler. (We’re worse than Hitler anyway, but if we don’t do cap and trade, we’re much worse than Hitler.)

We need more than a minimal framework. Since we’re in the world’s spotlight, Congress has got to deliver The Real Thingâ„¢. Anything less would diminish Mr. Obama’s image, and we can’t have that. We’re going to mandate CO2 emissions to be no higher than in 1492, when Columbus arrived and made his first campfire. We’ll pass a strong law, a law that will tell everyone we’re serious this time, and no fooling!

The world will feel a tingling going down its collective leg. The world will love us.

With much fanfare and gusto, we’ll shut down a few steel mills. This will demonstrate our steadfast resolution. (The steel mills will re-open in China the following week, but that’s on the other side of the world, so it doesn’t count. The point is we’ve shut down American industrial production. If China picks up the slack and the CO2 emissions start right up again, that’s somebody else’s problem.)

Later, once the hubbub has died down and the focus has gone back to condemning Israel and the like, we can head over to Al Gore’s bank and start borrowing. We borrow from next year’s cap, and the year after too. We borrow from our kids, from our grandkids, from our grandkids’ grandkids. We promise that everyone down the line will burn less so we can burn more.

Then we go back to business as usual.

What’s that you say? You think my suggestion is stupid or even insane? Okay, you’ve got a point. But that’s also true with respect to Obama’s economic policies, and yet there he goes, burying our children in endless debt to launch his extravagant boondoggles and pay off his political cronies.

Maybe I’m jealous. Why does Obama get to sell the entire nation on his suicidal folly, whereas a sensible person like me ends up on Janet Napolitano’s terrorist watch list?

Bravo, Maynard. Incidentally, I haven’t been able to confirm the date, but assuming this was in fact just a few months ago, indeed, we’ve had quite enough of Napolitano’s “terrorist” watch list (we need to keep her on OUR watch list):

“A few months ago Steve Bierfeldt went through a harrowing ordeal at the St. Louis Airport. He was unconstitutionally searched, held against his rights, verbally harassed — and he recorded the whole thing on his cell phone. Steve’s bravery in defense of his rights made him a cult celebrity in liberty circles. And now his heroism is going mainstream, as Steve filed a lawsuit against the TSA, and CNN recently picked up the story. Here’s the link to watch the segment on The Situation Room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcSSwW4K4AU.

Like you, Steve is an inspiration to every freedom-loving patriot, and a reminder that there are victories to be won every day in the fight for liberty. Here is a link to Steve’s C4L blog post where he posted the video: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=20429. Please take a moment to leave a comment or word of encouragement. Let him know that in his fight for freedom, he doesn’t stand alone.

Oh, and here’s a video of a man pulled over for having an “End the Fed” bumper sticker:

We’re ALL on Napolitano’s “list”, in one way or another, just because we recognize that this government does not represent its citizens and, in fact, rejects them.

I watched a documentary the other night on the rise of Hitler’s National Socialist Party to power.
I’m not just saying this… there were so many similarities to Barack Hussein Obama, it’s really ominous.

Cap in Trade… how can Americans be so gullible. Remember when He ( The Messiah) said he wouldn’t raise taxes on the 95% of Americans under 250K a year? Well, how disingenuous was that, when his plan all along was to fund his myriad of entitlements and social programs this way.

And how does this affect the coal and natural gas industries… the two industries we will need to gain energy independence. Is he not working to “tax” them out of existence with regulatory fees in the name of trade credits? That is exactly what will happen.

    Maynard,

Since we Midwesterners have tightened our rustbelts ’til we can barely breathe perhaps Congress can tax the toxic emissions that are endlessly belched across the airwaves by the bi-coastal manufacturers of news and entertainment (and all that mingle mangle in between). It is these purveyors of violent, profane and prurient programs that render the enveloping environs of our society nearly inhabitable. Maybe they can buy, sell and trade credits that will mandate the planting of inspiring and edifying sights and sounds in the fertile imaginations of our young people rather than simply continuing to litter and befoul our already nauseatingly polluted culture, a culture that has lobotomized all of us with mind-numbing and soul-sucking trash. A Crap and Trade system if you will.

Maynard, Just Brilliant! We should immediately create the Federal Carbon Reserve Bank, so that we can print up as many cabon offset certificates as we need to start using that tastey future carbon!
