Don’t give up! It’s a beautiful monster and even though it’s sorta dead and will cause death and destruction, it’s so…Changey!

AARP to Obama: Don’t give up on health reform

AARP, the nation’s largest senior citizens’ advocacy group, doesn’t want President Barack Obama to bail on healthcare reform.

In a letter to Obama Friday, AARP CEO A. Barry Rand outlines the organization’s priorities and stresses that his organization continues to believe that failure to achieve healthcare reform is not an option.

“Health care costs continue to be one of the chief concerns facing older Americans and their families, and without reform, the problem will only get worse,” Rand wrote. “This issue has plagued our nation for decades, and the political and policy obstacles have proven difficult to overcome, but far too much progress has been made to stop now. On behalf of AARP’s members, I urge you to work together to enact health care reform legislation this year.”

This is a good time to remind you that there is a conservative alternative to the AARP–the American Seniors Association. Apparently the AARP didn’t get the message last year as they hemorrhaged members due to their support of DeathCare, so let’s tell them again.

And it looks like the Dumb Bastard-in-Chief just might try to do it. After all, there might be a lightning storm in DC soon, and who knows, if you put the bill up on the capitol dome, it just might get the jolt it needs!

Obama to spell out new healthcare plan

President Barack Obama is expected to publish his healthcare plan as early as Sunday or Monday, combining features of the two Democratic bills passed by the Senate and House of Representatives, congressional aides and healthcare advocates said on Friday.

The administration’s bill will aim to jump-start the stalled healthcare overhaul and comes just days ahead of a planned televised White House summit with congressional Republicans, who are calling on Democrats to scrap the bills and start over with a far less sweeping proposal. Those agreements are likely to be combined as a privileged budget reconciliation bill, which only needs a simple 51-vote majority to pass the 100-member Senate instead of the 60-vote supermajority that has become routine in the Senate and gives Republicans power to block the healthcare bill.

“I believe that’s the path we are going to take,” a senior congressional Democratic aide said.

But it is not clear, even to congressional Democrats, what the White House will include in its legislation and whether Obama will try to add proposals aimed at attracting at least some Republican support.

Amazing. They have no idea what it will be but it’s being pushed. After all this time. Make no mistake, the White House must simply be in chaos. You know your work–make sure your senators and reps understand that you will never give up. you’re still mad, and you will hold them accountable if they continue to facilitate the disastrous Obama agenda. And if politicians need a “Daddy ” and are afraid to upset Urkel, tell them they have a new Daddy–You.

In a time of great crisis, Obama has wasted a crucial year pushing his ideological agenda to the detriment of the nation’s ailments. His “help is on the way” “stimulus” bill was a cobbled together package of boondoggles that emptied the public treasury for no national economic benefit beyond paying off cronies. Then he moved on to his job-killing cap-and-trade, and then his job-killing people-killing budget-busting health care. Decisions were made in secret; special interests were bribed to get on board; votes were taken in the dark of night; every step was rushed and hushed. Everybody knows this is insane; nobody knows what to do about it. The Democrats in charge would rather sink the nation than embarrass their dear leader. (I can’t help but wonder whether Bayh’s odd retirement is in anticipation of the coming catastrophe, which he can then wash his hands of and return to Washington as the savior who wasn’t responsible for the Great Collapse.)

Think back to Bill Clinton’s slogan: “It’s the economy, stupid.” Clinton at first screwed up on health care and taxes, and learned his lesson. This was good for the nation, and good for him personally. In contrast, Obama is apparently incorrigible. He’s going to subjugate the nation to his will or die trying.

The people have spoken clearly. Health care is on the wrong track. The focus of Washington is in the wrong direction. But Congress is poised to give us the finger. It seems Washington wants us to get the message loud and clear: We don’t listen to you, so just stop with your letters and your demonstrations and your elections. We don’t care. Go away.

Evil times have come to America.

AARP has a vested interest in this piece of crap passing. They are supposed to be an advocacy group for seniors – not any more. AARP has a considerable lobbying presence in Washington and has been criticized by both parties for it’s ties to insurers. They stand to benefit in a big way if Urkel’s “Death” care passes. The legislation will slash Medicare Advantage and will drive up demand for private Medigap policies like the ones offered by AARP. The conflict of interest involves substantial earnings from insurance royalties and the huge benefit that could come from many of the reform proposals. http://tinyurl.com/ygtzdnx

At least Dubya got the message with so-called “immigration reform.” The people were overwhelmingly against it, let their feelings be known to their elected officials, and eventually Shamnesty died an ignoble death. Not so with Urkel. He continues to follow Alinsky’s rules in regards to health care “reform.” It’s the old Marxist radical in him. He just can’t help himself. When faced with mounting opposition keep the pressure on. In other words, give it the gas and mount another cavalry charge. Never mind that your army’s been decimated.

    • Pat_S says:

You mean Dubya got the message after the second time around? Congress heard the wrath of the people and were ready to drop it when Bush told them to get back on it saying (from Europe), “I’ll see you at the signing.”

      • franknitti says:

Yes, Dubya did make two attempts to pass Shamnesty but Urkel has made how many to pass his heath care “reform” package? This assclown is still charging. He’s simply ignoring the will of the people and probably the majority of Congressional members if the real truth was known. All so that he can turn the rest of the country into Michigan and California.

Maynard- your gut feeling: is Obama & entourage bottom line a quest for power, or some kind of twisted altruism?

    • Maynard says:

Ru, your question veers off into psychology, which I find really fascinating and worthy of contemplation, but not directly useful. Why do people do what they do? Why do I do what I do?

There is something about the way the human brain is wired that makes us want to interact with our fellow creatures in some kind of a power game. If you tell me it’s not true about you, I say you’re a liar. This is in our DNA.

Sweet Dreams are made of this
      Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
      Everybody is looking for something
Some of then want to use you
Some of then want to be used by you
Some of then want to abuse you
Some of then want to be abused

We need to be aware of our dark urges, because they are going to get satisfied one way or another. If we’re willing to look at ourselves with brutal honesty, that’s the first step toward seeking benign satisfaction. For example, don’t go beat someone; instead get involved in a rough game of football.

It’s my opinion that the people in Washington are largely drawn there out of a fundamental psychological need to impose themselves on their fellows. They’re lacking the talent and dedication to do anything productive or valuable, so their only option is coercion. They feel vaguely inferior to those people that have actually done something worth honoring, and thus they seethe with a sense of inadequacy and resentment that they can’t understand. The words that come out of their mouths are nothing more than rationalizations for their endless appetites. I suspect some of them know they’re spouting manipulative bulsh, and others find it psychologically necessary to believe their own lies.

In condemning Washington, I’m not making any personal claim to psychological health. I’m no better than they are. I just know I’m a lunatic, and thus unfit to coercively manage your life. (I think I am psychologically damaged because I got my schooling back before they reoriented the schools to teach children that the main thing that mattered was self-esteem. If I were mentally healthy, I’d be perfectly comfortable beating the rest of you louts into submission.)

Roger Cobb spoke for the everyman when he observed:

Roger: Just because my grandfather didn’t rape the environment and exploit the workers doesn’t make me a peasant. And it’s not that he didn’t want to rape the environment and exploit the workers, I’m sure he did. It’s just that as a barber, he didn’t have that much opportunity.

      Sweet dreams indeed.

AARP has become a disgustingly socialist organization for the left. I fired them last Sept. in favor of a far better and conservative organization http://americanseniors.org/ (formally NASCON) but I still get AARP email and snail mail asking me to rejoin…I DON’T THINK SO!

    • eMVeeH says:

I don’t know where those AARP bastards got my name. Probably because I order stuff for my mom. Anyway, when I get their mail [these punks are persistant!], I don’t open the envelope. I block out my name and address with a Sharpie, and write “Return to Sender,” on the envelope and drop it in the mailbox. Make ’em pay for returning their propaganda!

P.S. I do that to get me off of other mailing lists, too. Asking nicely doesn’t seem work.

      • Gordon says:

But I enjoy using my cross-cut shredder…Grinding up leftist propaganda (and junk mail) is SO much fun! 🙂 I’ve set my email to place anything from AARP into SPAM but they seem to change their protocols so it slips by sometimes…I just label the new address as SPAM…its almost as much fun as shredding…but without the sound effects…(Grind, grind, grind) 🙂 Now if only Urkel would send me junk mail :)…though the shredder may catch fire or at the least overload 🙁 (Mixed feelings)

It seems that the only way we are going to stop this egomaniac, is to completely destroy the political establishment around him. Bury him in its debris so deep that the monster cannot cause any more harm. November cannot come soon enough!
