Woo hoo! Brought to us by Nativevoice in Comments, here’s a Citizen Reporter bringing us the Japanese version of a Tea Party rally and demonstration. Stay with it–while the rally and such is in Japanese, the Citizen Reporter is a young woman who keeps us filled in, and there are lots of American flags 🙂 I love the part where we’re told demonstrators are only allowed to shout at the Prime Minister once, but when they do it’s good!

Look for my favorite sign once they get to their Federal Building: “Crazy Prime Minister–FXXK Off!” LOL! Unfortunately, the video does start automatically, so to stop it just click the pause on the player.

Tea Party Campaign of Japan

[I removed the video only because it auto-plays and you all know how I hate that. Just follow the link and you’ll get the video, which is great].

This is the first nationwide Tea Party movement to protest against the new government of Japan’s Democrats in response to the shift from an American-centered policy to a more China-focused policy, more specifically the relocation of the American Marine Corps air base from Okinawa.

Happiness Realization Party is willing to support this grass roots campaign and conservative movement by joining the demonstration that started at Hibiya Park in Tokyo to the National Diet on May 11 @ 1:00 pm in Japan. In spite of rain, more than 3000 people participated in this demonstration.

A Japanese political party based on the pursuit of happiness?

    Happiness Realization Party

The party is one of the more unusual elements in the flotsam and jetsam of Japanese opposition politics. Set up by the founder of the “Happy Science” religious organization, its policies are aimed at, as the name suggests, increasing Japan’s happiness.

But the party’s idea of what makes people happy is surprisingly hard-line: It wants to strengthen the country’s military and revise its pacifist constitution to counter overseas threats, and last year its former leader raised eyebrows by saying that, if elected, she would consider a pre-emptive attack against North Korea if a missile launch looked likely.

Its economic policies are short on detail and based mostly on a “radical” reduction in taxes — ironically also claimed as a policy by North Korea — as well as selling shinkansen, or bullet train, technology abroad. The party also wants to more than double Japan’s population in 30 years through mass immigration and by creating “an environment conducive to having children.”

The party managed to attract 459,387 votes in last year’s general election, or 0.7% of the total vote.

Strong military and a constitution that allows them to counter overseas threats, pre-emptive attacks to avoid being attacked first, lower taxes, exporting technology to boost GDP, a country made up of immigrants….
Sounds kinda like us. I’m intrigued…

Yet, Urkel will bow at the feet of terrorists and embrace leaders who openly advocate the breaking of US law. We have it so backwards in this country.

I also wanted to share that the EUROPEAN TEA PARTY MOVEMENT has begun. Both Italy and the Netherlands have had events. They plan to join forces with others and target the EU Parliamentary Building in BRUSSELS, Belgium for an event. Remember — VP Biden said Brussels was the “capital of the free world”.

The Tea Party is going international, baby
