With civilization facing down and fighting the savages among us, I thought we all could use a Big Wet Nose Floppy Ear Puppy Break.
I just found a picture of Sydney just after I rescued her from the pound. Seeing this pic again made me happy and so I thought I would share it with you, with the hope it would make you happy, too.
When I adopted Sydney I had no idea what sort of dog she was or what she would grow into. Well, here’s the beautiful girl, 5 years later. You’d never know it was the same dog, would you? It’s amazing what a lot of food and love will do for you π
Maynard adds:
Here’s an even more recent picture of Sydney, so you can see how much she’s grown under Tammy’s care.
Tammy,
That is so cool!
Awww, what a little – and big – cutie! Hobbes was such a little bitty thing when we got him – he used to fit in my shirt pocket. Now he’s a big snoring galoot!
Tammy, Syd’s “baby” picture is so freaking adorable. BTW, I just love your voice changes when Syd comes in and you talk to her while you’re doing the show and the 3rd hour. You can hear the LOVE in your voice.
Except for that one time…”SYD GET YOUR A## DOWN HERE”…LMAO!!
It’s okay…We all lose it from time to time with the animals!
When do I get my Syd Bark?… <——— tapping my fingers on the desk… π
Thanks for sharing Tammy! She is a cutie!
What a cute puppy! No wonder you fell in love with her!

Precious!! Thank you for posting these, Tammy. π
Thanks for sharing Tammy! (and Maynard LOL!) I’m thinking the LOVE is a lot more important for Syd than the food. Seeing Syd as a puppy…SMILE!
What an “all ears” cutie patootie puppy Sydney was who’s transformed into the lovely Syd we see today. Thanks for sharing Tammy.
Syd looks so majestic in that shot. What is her mix? I know you’ve told us before but can’t remember. She’s a beauty.
I had her DNA tested–Shepherd, Collie, Shar-Pei, and the bog lovable Leonberger π
Sydney is the reset button taking me back to happiness. I think a Sydney pic is the perfect way to end the third hour each night π
Maybe Sydney could use a massage from expert paws.
Syd made me happy too!
Sydney sure is a beautiful dog!! π
Ms. Tammy,
When they call stray and/or discarded dogs and cats “rescues” just who is doing the “rescuing” and who is being “rescued”? When I was a desolate despairing teen way back in 1976 my life was saved by a Siamese kitten I named Gemini. For 21 1/2 years she taught me how to love and how to BE loved. My spiritual bond with her has remained unbroken over these last 14 years that have passed since her passing. So you see, I remain the rescued one. And today, my wonderful wife and I live with six other feline “rescuers” (2 from shelters, 1 foundling, 2 formerly feral and 1 dumped during winter in a foot of snow). I thank God every day for all the love that He and they have given me.
Could not agree more, pangborn. Very well said!
What a beautiful sentiment, and yes, so true. Thank you for sharing that. Yes, I think I’m the rescued one too π
That helps… thanks for the smile. π
Whodda thunk that little pup in the pic would grow up to be the worlds top squirrel chaser ? π
Aw, Syd is so cute! She has definitely thrived under your love and attention and I’m sure you’d say she’s done the same thing for you. π
Can we take Syd to DC so she can start gnawing on goverment buidings to cut spending?
ok, where is the super hero blonde colored mask? apparently it’s amazing what a lot of fur dye will do too.
i made this around the time of the elections but must have had a spot of the vapors and forgotten it- Catzilla!

Purrrfect Catzilla, Thierry! Thanks for sharing!
I figured that last photo was what car-chasing dogs dream of. We had one like that — lost half his tail when he caught one. (country-dumped dog we fed …not really ours; no notes about me being rotten owner plz π
Syd is such a beauty!
HAHA to that last pic!
As the feeder/petter of two shelter dogs (Pitt and Dane) and two shelter cats, one of which was added just two days ago, I can attest that nothing beats a rescue animal. It is as if they KNOW they’ve got a second chance and will repay you with endless love and loyalty.
Great pics; definitely made me happy!
Those pictures are amazing Tammy. Sydney is so lucky you found her. Thank you for showing them to us, they did make me smile…. π See.. smiling.
What an adorable picture of Sydney-such a darling puppy! Dogs ask so little, but give SO MUCH- they are the BEST therapy in the world! Who can be depressed when someone is ALWAYS so glad to see you?
Glad you are so loved, Tammy.
