Palin-West meet at Rolling Thunder

Welcome to the Sunday Open Thread. More links will be added through the day. As usual, feel free to add your pithy commentary on the matters of your choice. Just a reminder of our No Links in Comments policy, but tons of opinion and attitude are welcomed 🙂

CNN: Sunday in Washington, D.C. means Rolling Thunder, and 100,000 motorcycling veterans

The Rolling Thunder rally went very well for everyone. As you know, Sarah Palin attended. Here a variety of the coverage and pics for you Palinistas 🙂

The governor, Todd, Bristol and Piper were all there. Todd and Piper were on one bike, with SP as passenger on another.

The Palin West picture looks photoshopped. Please tell me there is a good picture of them together. An early campaign pic.

I just heard some advisor to the White House tell the NBC anchor that Sarah Palin had a ZERO percent chance of winning the presidency and the best thing she can do for the republican party is to tell them immediately she is not running so Pawlenty or Mittens can step out as the frontrunner. Screw you ! They are so disgustingly afraid of Sarah because she is the ONLY one on the horizon that can beat the dumb, clueless, asinine, Marxist bastard that is occupying the White House *when he’s not out golfing or making a damn fool of himself at some social function* Palin/West 2012

    • AndreaB says:

Now why would the Obama White House advisor want to help the GOP by telling them Palin has no chance? What, are they saying it out of the goodness of their hears? They are nuts if they think we will believe that bs. Oh, please, RNC don’t run an easy candidate against us like Palin, run Mitt or T-Blah instead so we have real competition. Rush had it right..they will tell us who they fear and it ain’t Mitt or T-paw. They so fear the chick on the Hog with the laptop and its a fun thing to watch as the media goes into a full blown meltdown.

    • sandyl says:

      ROTFLMAO!!!

They just told you that she is the frontrunner! If she has ZERO chance, that would mean she’s at the bottom and the boys are at the top, so why would she have to back out of the race in order to put them in the front????

Libs are so stupid, it’s like AndreaB stated (via Rush), they will always let you know who they are most afraid of.

I am buying stock in depends right now!! 🙂

    • ShArKy666 says:

      haha..rite on teri!!….that’s why i call him OBASTARD..lol

I was at the Rolling Thunder parade and had the privilege of shaking Governor Palin’s hand (being a conservative from the San Francisco area, this was certainly a treat). I saw her towards the end of the route on the backseat of a motorcycle and then was the across the street from where the motorcycles parked. She walked across the street with Piper, Bristol, and Todd (surrounded by veterans who acted as her bodyguards) and I approached her and shook her hand. I said “G-d Bless You” and then she asked me for my name. The media (I know that CNN was there for sure) had surrounded her as she and the Palin family moved towards the Lincoln Memorial, where they had SUV’s awaiting them. That’s when she spoke to the CNN reporters (as she was walking). Governor Palin got inside the SUV’s but then got out so she could speak with the veterans who approached the car. She took pictures with several fans (I took a few of her) and then I had a chance to shake Bristol’s hand as well (and commend her for her performance on Dancing With the Stars- she smiled and said “thank you”). The group then headed to the tents on either side of the Rolling Thunder stage which held numerous wounded veterans and their families. Although Governor Palin did not speak on stage, she spent a long time talking with the individual veterans (I had a chance to see her speaking with a brave soldier who’s leg was in a cast). (The contrast between Obama and Governor Palin cannot be more clear: she meets with wounded veterans after riding a motorcycle, he’s busy giving flawed toasts at Buckingham Palace to the Queen). The Palin family left after the singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. It was an incredible day, and I wish Governor Palin the best of luck on her tour.

Thank you for the great report, NativeVoice! I almost felt like I was there! Sarah’s strength is her one-on-one approach, her respect and interest in the individual. She is a real people person and no matter what the media tries to do, they can’t cover-up this fact.

I love that she is bold with wearing her cross necklace. She is saying.. This is what I am, who I am and in whom I believe…”take it or leave it.”

    Open Thread Quick Hits:

*Having lived in Arlington, VA, right up the road(~4 miles) from the Pentagon South Parking Lot, the news videos cannot capture the massive number of motorcycles and the deafening sound of them going down the road.
You have to see, hear and smell it to believe it. It’s truly awesome!

*Palin is there to show Solidarity as a private citizen, albeit a very famous one.
(But, of course, all the nitwits, pissants, wet blankets, k***-joys, knuckleheads and useful idiots in the Lame Stream Media can’t go a single hour without assigning some sinister, alternative politicial motive since they are pathological cynics filled with envy and jealousy because she’s a well-adjusted, happily married woman with a loving husband and family…and a Conservative)

I’m thinking that since “The Magic Bus” is rolling now, that the proper re-naming of ‘The 3rd Hour’ should be —- The Palin Report. ;D

Is that Bristol that Sarah’s riding with?! I’m impressed if it is.
Great pics! there are a couple at Sarah.Pac with Allen West. One is Palin and West shaking hands! my little heart got all excited!

Darn that woman, she can even rock helmet hair!

  14. Ginger says:

I’m getting chill bumps reading all these comments…Did you see Meet The Press today?…These people just can’t stomach the fact that she’s a force. David Brooks was especially condescending and obnoxious….can’t wait to see their faces and hear their comments on inauguration day 2013…btw, I plan to be there come hell or high water!!

There are more pictures of Sarah at the WWII, Jefferson, and Lincoln Memorials in the SarahPac website. My favorite is the picture of Sarah and Todd sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

    • LJZumpano says:

I like that, too. Makes you wonder what they are talking about, sitting there looking out, and being a part of history. Has to get the adrenaline flowing when you know that the fate of the nation may be in your hands, thinking about Lincoln and Washington and knowing that there will always be hard decisions to make, and praying that God will give you the wisdom to make the right ones.

  21. sohali99 says:

Sarah Palin is the opposite of Dukakis in a helmet for sure. Would like to see the comparison shots of the two or Obama on his girlie bike with the helmet on.
I have not seen her look bad in anything she tries. That’s part of her appeal.

  22. sodakhic says:

love your Palin podcasts, Tammy and how you have her back. I know Sarah has always stated there are no coincidences which means Tammy you were groomed for the part you’re playing. Keep up the good work. Please come to Mt Rushmore when Sarah comes this summer, Just have a feeling. There will be an intimate 25,000 people in the amphitheater

    • Tammy says:

Thank you so much, and it’s nice to have you on board. I’ve never been to Mt Rushmore, I hear it’s glorious 🙂 Thanks for the heads up (pun intended 😉

The Vets of the “forgotten” war in Korea and Vietnam have been thru a lot. Seeing the younger Vets from recent wars receive a dignified homecoming must be bittersweet for them, as they recall the reception and neglect they received. With Rolling Thunder they have chosen to take their pent up feelings and use them in a positive way. Focusing on the issues of POW/MIA and other veteran issues, they also remind us of the great treasure we have as Americans, with men and women, some volunteers, some drafted into service, who have put on the uniform and pledged to fight for us. If some Vets feel the presence of Gov. Palin takes away from their moment, it is sad, especially since it is the MSM and how they choose the cover the event which is at fault. As one who lived thru the VietNam War period, with all it’s twists and turns, I have been proud of the annual Rolling Thunder event and was pleased that Gov Palin chose to bring attention to it.

Using open thread to post this. For someone that is not in the presidential race the media sure seems to think so. OMG, CNN is broadcasting from Gettysburg, while waiting on Gov. Palin. Priceless! I can only imagine how it is going to be when she announces that she will run to be the next president of the United States. I can hear her saying..’I am in it to win it and that is what I intend to do’. Mr. President, Game On!

Love the way Sarah’s handling this patriotic bus tour and keeping close reigns on her schedule. Was thrilled that she started with Rolling Thunder in D.C. honoring their focus on our vets and fallen heroes this Memorial Day weekend as they do every year. Love the shot of Sarah and Todd sitting on the Lincoln Memorial steps overlooking the Washington Monument and together soberly considering I’m sure the giant step they’re about to take. At each successive stop to view our founding documents or historical sites, she seems profoundly touched by our history and forefathers and mothers who bravely established this great country of ours. She says she has the fire in the belly to fight to protect it. God speed Sarah Palin….we need you!!
