A message from Gina

A few TAMs have contacted me about a recurring technical issue with Internet Explorer v. 9. If you have experienced ‘script error’ messages on the main page here’s how to fix that. I want to thank TAM “tick” for coming up with the solution to this. Here’s his message which I want to share with you in case you’ve experienced the same issue:

I found the work-around to this I.E. Ver 9 related problem. If I “add” www.tammybruce.com to the list of “Compatability View WebSites” (look under Tools in version 9) and then choose “Compatability View” under the same place, then the endless Script Errors go away.

Apparently the new version 9 handles Javascript errors in a much different way than older versions.

Here’s a screenshot of how the IE Compatibility View Settings element looks:

Thanks again tick for this information. Also, this weekend I’ll update everyone on the other projects and elements we’re working on for the site. We’ve been in Beta for a while but we want you to know we are constantly working to expand and add elements you’ve all requested, such as a Tammy Radio Music Widget, and Tammy has asked for a financial widget to be added as well. These things and much more are underway. I’ll have that update for you over the weekend.

Have a happy 4th of July everyone!

Thanks for the tip. IE9 is so annoying, I have stopped using it as my default and switched to Firefox. But I will definitely change the view settings.

Thanks, but I went back to IE 8! Many other problems. It’s kind of like obama,
it takes over everything, regardless of what you want!

I’ve switched to Firefox also because of the problems with IE9. I am liking it better each time I use it. I don’t care for the term ‘Bookmarks’ though. Takes one back to the days of Netscape.

Thanks to Tammy for being the tipping point!

Yes, while Firefox isn’t perfect I do think it’s a better choice than IE any version! At least we have options, thanks to Gina and tick for working this out

The use of the term ‘bookmarks’ is understandable for Firefox, as the browser came about after Netscape created the Mozilla project and publicly released the source code of the Netscape browser. Firefox is the brainchild of Mozilla, and in essence the open-source and wildly better child of Netscape. Be sure to check out all the cool add-ons that people have created for Firefox, many useful things there that IE is too stodgy to even think of developing. My favs are speed dial, xmarks, download statusbar, colorful tabs, all-in-one gestures. Enjoy!

Thank you Gina! I thought I was the only one with that annoying problem.

I have a better tip: just don’t use IE at all!
