Real Clear Politics: Palin to Keynote Tea Party Rally in Iowa
Why we keep our powder dry and our hopes high: The date for this rally is 9/3/11, the 3rd anniversary of her speech to the Republican convention on 9/3/08. And no, I don’t think she’s going to Iowa to tell the peeps she won’t be running 🙂

Politico: Debt ceiling talks between Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell

Boston Globe: GOP plan on debt gets push in House; Leaders press case before a vote today; Boehner proposal unlikely to pass Senate

I could almost start feeling sorry for this guy. Almost. CNN: Gingrich campaign t-shirts: Not ‘Made in the USA’

Jedediah Bila: Mark Levin and Heritage Action for America Get It Right

Telegraph: Rare Captain Bligh medals to be auctioned in Australia

Ynet: German intelligence agency admits to destroying evidence on wanted Nazi criminal

John Bolton at Human Events: Obama’s Libya Missteps Imperil NATO’s Future

Washington Times: Obama’s Iran hostage crisis–Economic malaise and global impotence are defining ‘Carter’s second term’

And I leave you with something to make you laugh that has nothing to do with politics simply because most of the news of the day confirms the fact that the midterm Tea Party Revolution wasn’t enough for those bastards in Washington to get the message, confirming we must finish the job in 2012.

Michele Bachmann Shells Out $4,700 for Three Hair, Makeup Appointments
Thought she was screaming for cash donations because they (phantom bogeymen) were after her. Question: how much of tab went to those drapes masquerading as false eyelashes?

I’d also like to say how much I appreciated your comments about how we need to have and share our non-political outlets as well. I like your stories about Sydney and Snoopy and the exotic (to me) world of coffee precisely because they’re fun and personal and a welcome respite from the largely depressing/infuriating garbage that spills out of our policians’ mouths. It’s like smelling plumerias while sweating and fretting to try to keep your garden from being overcome by various pests and pestilences. (If you’ve never smelled a plumeria, you are missing out.) In fact, if I may be so bold as to make another reference to the Lord of the Rings movies — it reminds us, even in small ways, that there’s still good in the world, and it’s worth fighting for.

It’s easy to get caught up in talk of what we fight for — freedom — but it’s the little things like this that remind us why we fight in the first place. It may be corny, but it’s the truth.

Regarding Obama’s refusal to honestly engage on the debt ceiling. Remember when he was pushing Obamacare and said in essence to some of the Democrats nervous about losing their seat due to voting for it; Take one for the team, you’re not going to be reelected anyway.

So where are the Democrats to now tell Obama; Take one for the team, you’re not going to be reelected anyway.

  5. Cernunnos81 says:

The issue being that he is once again showing how much of an ideologue he is. They pushed Obamacare through, against 70%+ of the populaces’ wishes and now they will force a rise in the debt ceiling, designed to allow them to add $7.5Trillion to our debt over then next decade with an alleged $4Trillion in cuts. You can bet (quite safely as it is a rare “sure thing”) that there will be less than $1Trillion in cuts from any deal made now. They can’t force future legislations to make the cuts.

Almost 3yrs with no budget, makes the discretionary spending So easy as there is no one balancing the check book allowing them to spend Completely out of control. But the Lame Stream Media will say Nothing about That. You can bet that they will lambaste and excoriate the Conservatives for any possible perceived mistake though.

One of the great things about announcing the TP rally in Iowa a month ahead of time is that it gives plenty of time for folks to make plans to attend. Imagine the “shock and awe” if 20,000 people or more show up! That’s not unrealistic given the size of the crowd that she drew at the TP rally in Searchlight, NV. Compare this size crowd to the 200 that attended MB’s announcement, 1000 for Romney’s announcement, etc.

From the Real Clear Politics Palin Keynote speech story above, second-to-last paragraph mentioning Governor Palin’s apparent lack of staff at this point, continues thus:

“…although the addition of a national press secretary may soon be on the horizon.”

    Heh. Hmmm…

AP story that recently assassinated Iranian was a scientist who worked on triggers for nuclear bombs. Iran blames U.S. and Israel. I’m not going to complain, if that’s the case.

AP story about Peru’s President/political situation. This is one confusing article. It appears to me to be confusing because liberal bias didn’t result in straightforward reporting.

Article describes outgoing President as pro-business. But his first term ended in 1990 with hyperinflation and a leftist insurgency. Now his second term is ending and a leftist is taking office. AP doesn’t mention current economic situation of Peru. So was a leftist elected because again the economy stinks (and therefore those pro-business politicians are at fault) or is that all that Peru has. Eg, the outgoing President is a leftist but not as bad as those replacing him. Confusing. http://washingtonexaminer.com/news/world/2011/07/outgoing-peruvian-president-skips-out-successor

Reid is promising to kill Boehner’s plan tonight. All I heard this morning on Laura Ingraham’s show was how it is essential that we pass Boehner’s plan in order to put political pressure on the Dems, right before this phony August 2nd deadline. Well that worked out well!

The ONLY response from House Republicans should be a promise to double down on CCB if the Boehner plan is defeated by the Senate. God help the Republican Party if they wind up caving altogether on this…
