Tammy’s comments in the weekend podcast about Newt are pretty interesting. My head is spinning with all of this. I had pretty much resigned myself to Romney, and then along comes Cain with a flash of hope but I can’t quite buy the package, and then hopeless old Newt starts looking sharp. Where is this all going? It’s too much for me to grasp.

There is no mystery here, just the confusion and chaos true conservatives feel with the loss of the only truly inspiring, vetted, and conservative person out there, Sarah Palin.

Many leaning toward the “usual” candidate got their wish when she “quit.”

Now there is a scramble to find something about those in the field that can legitamize a conservative’s support.

I believe that this election will be the last civilized effort we can make to stop the erosion of our country and begin to roll back all the layers of regulation, legislation, and taxation, that have been placed on us over the decades.

None of these candidates offer the “true” vision and leadership needed to make this happen.

What you have is the least appalling apple rising to the top.

BTW Maynard- Your post on types of parenting producing miserable adults was WONDERFUL! Loved it- LOL

Amen Maynard! Can we get the press to do more debates like the C Span? Could Newt nix the dumb bastard in a debate or would he manage to slither out of it?

How do they know it’s the devil? It could be a wealthy patron, or family member.

it’s a contentious issue-whether or not giotto painted the st. anthony cycle- but it’s always a great news day when the proto-renaissance makes headlines. giotto made the renaissance possible- more people should know about him.

these websites show and discuss the entire st francis cycle- this church is a treasure of our western cultural heritage:

I see the devil & wonder why no one ever noticed it before. Is it in HD now? Hmmm

    • thierry says:

because the fresco is high up- you can’t see the detail from the floor with the naked eye. these frescos were severely damaged in an earthquake in 1997- so restorers have been up close fixing them and surely noticed then.

Keep an eye out for the Indianapolis mayor’s race. The incumbent Republican surprisingly won from outside the establishment in 2007 and defeated the Dem incumbent. The Dems have thrown the us vs them class warfare charge, and of course the obligatory racism accusation against the Mayor. Will be interesting to see. I predict he wins.

I did my duty this morning by campaigning outside a voting site for a local Republican looking to unseat a big establishment Dem. I predict the R wins here too.

Speaking of free money from the government…I’m flashing back to Matthew Lesko, the “Free money from the government!” guy. Here’s one of his old commercials on YouTube. I wonder if Lesko supported Obama? Which also brings to mind a parody of Lesko created by comedian Andy Dick; this is more than a little weird and not entirely tasteful, but if that doesn’t discourage you, take a peek.

I just heard Tammy report that Wisconsin’s Gov. Walker has made the controversial change of calling the state’s Christmas tree a “Christmas tree”, instead of a “holiday tree” as it’s been called since 1985.

Sounds like Wisconsin now has itself not only a Christmas tree but also a pair of Christmas balls to hang on it.
