Hi everyone, as you know for the past two weeks the site has been up and down. It became rather apparent we had outgrown our current platform, so tonight we are migrating to a new one. I want to thank all of you for your patience during this time. Many of you have experienced “no connection” pages, including when you’ve tried to access your “profile” page. This migration will solve those issues and more.
The moment we realized we had a problem Kenton and our new guy Ed started working on the solution. So here’s what to expect–starting at about 7pm PT (10pm ET) tonight (Wednesday) the site will begin the migration process. I ask that no comments be added and no TAMs add to the TAM Wire as after that point any new additions will not carry over to the new site. The blog should stay up and everything published prior to that point in time will continue to be accessible, including podcasts.
If all goes as expected, you should really notice nothing at all. Once we know the migration is complete, I’ll let you know in this post and it will be safe to comment/post once again.
I’ll also have the ‘Daily TAM Briefing” up before the migration time as well. If for some reason things don’t go as expected, this would be a good time to sign up on Twitter.com if you haven’t already. This is an excellent way for us to be able to stay connected in the event the site is down at any point during this process.
I want to say thanks once again to all Tammy Army Members as your support has made this upgrade possible, especially that Christmas Money Bomb you all did 🙂 Once we get the blog stable on the new platform, the very next project for the boys is to see if we can eliminate the double TAM/Wordpress sign in for TAMs. I know it’s always been a bother, and it’s there to protect the podcasts, but I’ve asked Ed to see if there’s a way we can maintain the iTunes feed while also making the sign-in a one step experience. No guarantees, but we’ll try 🙂

Tammy don’t sweat it… most of us TAMS are Tech savy folks…These are growth pains and frankly that’s great. It means the Tamily is growing..There will always be a few thin skinned whiners…remember dial-up folks?? So every once in a while when a web site goes wonky let’s not get goofy… The up Time is 99.9 percent by my calcs…that’s better than most Banks..Thanks for the upgrade Tammy, I know it is frustrating..particularly for alpha perfectionist talk show host…who could that be?..:), Tim

I’ve managed site deployments & upgrades before and pulled a few all-nighters when they’ve gone off the rails and melted down. It’s not easy.

Tammy, in case you haven’t seen the e-mail I sent, it bears repeating here. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the improved blog platform…..it made all the difference and works like a charm (without installing “Last Pass”). The ease of entering the blog and accessing all the links worked just like it used to when I first subscribed to the Tammy blog Aug. ’09.
