Ah, the smell of Arab Winter in the air. The failures of this administration go beyond the economic destruction of our own country, but the loss of the Middle East to the Islamic hoards. May God bless and protect Israel, as Hamas has escalated attacks in the midst of this. Remember, this is the country which held Americans hostage just a few months ago. We had better never forget the lessons of what happens to us and the world when you hand this country over to liberals. From the Guardian here’s a summary of the main events:

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi has become Egypt’s first freely elected president after a delayed announcement of the results of last weekend’s runoff. He beat former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq by more than almost 900,000 votes. Morsi secured 51.7% of the vote, compared to 48% for Shafiq.

• Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the military council which still holds all the levers of power in Egypt, congratulated Morsi on the victory. Morsi’s win came after reports and speculation about a possible deal between the Brotherhood and the military council.

• Morsi’s victory was greeted with scenes of wild celebrations by tens of thousands of his supporters in Tahrir Square. The Muslim Brotherhood has vowed to stay in the square to protest at the military council’s power grab. Under constitutional amendments announced while votes were being counted last week, the presidency holds very little power compared to the military. The military has also dissolved parliament and holds the final say on the drafting of a new constitution.

• The Brotherhood hailed the victory as the start of new era for Egypt. It promised to appoint a cabinet that will “truly represent Egypt after revolution”.

Egypt has been reliant on tourism and the export of cotton for their economy. Both of those, as you might imagine, have been harmed by the so-called Arab Spring. Let’s make sure a BOYCOTT of Egypt becomes broader and stronger. Considering the likely direction of the military junta and the Islamists, including hostility toward Israel and a degradation of human rights, and women’s rights in particular, this won’t be too difficult.

What a horrible shame. Here’s one of the messages from the new ‘moderate’ Muslim Brotherhod president of the Egypt–they’re going to take over Israel. UPDATE: As Pat S. Notes in Comments, the speaker in the video is aoparently a supporter of Morsi at a Morsi rally. In a not very reassuring statement about the threat Toni Dave Israel, Morsi notes: “Jerusalem is in our hearts and vision. But Cairo is Egypt’s capital.” Lovely.

That’s what Obama wanted.. Why else would he invite members of the MB as guests at the white House.. and also appoint them positions within his administration in past few months..This should surprise no one.

  2. Shifra says:

Just for the record: The number of times Jerusalem is mentioned in the Koran? Zero.

So, now they will march to Jerusalem? If they do, they will be annihilated by the IDF. This man is leading his people towards destruction.

Great job, DB!!!! Everyone’s self esteem in that freak show appears very elevated. And isn’t *that* what’s important?

    • persecutor says:

From the DB’s point of view, the “Arab Spring” has been an unqualified success!

He and PIAPS (Pig In A Pants Suit)must be breaking out the bubbly!

With Al Qeada controlling Libya, and soon Yemen, now Muslim Brotherhood in control in Egypt, it is only a matter of time that they will deny passage through the Red Sea to the North Arbian Sea requiring the US to go all the way around Africa, adding better than a month to our response time to anything they want to do. Nice going Mr. President and Hillary. you really know how to help your muslim brothers out.

Abstracted from a story on the American Thinker:

    July 10, 2011
Obama administration approves sale of tanks to Egypt.

The Pentagon told Congress – which has 30 days to object to the deal – that the sale of tanks would “contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a friendly country that has been and continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.”

The Pentagon further stated that the new tanks would “provide Egypt with a modern tank fleet, enhancing its capacity to meet current and future threats.”

Let’s see where this goes, shall we? It’s up to Congress to stop the deal, if
they have the will, then again, El Presidente’ just might defy them anyway, right?

To clarify…although that “march on Jerusalem” speech was originally attributed to the new president of Egypt, the proper credit is to the cleric introducing the new president. Just wanted to get the detail correct. See Breitbart.

    • Pat_S says:

According to the Christian Science Monitor, Egypt has a new president: Let the fear mongering begin! ,this speech by the cleric Safwat al-Hegazy was delivered a few weeks ago in support of Morsi. Morsi, CSM reports, distanced himself from those remarks by saying, “Jerusalem is in our hearts and vision. But Cairo is Egypt’s capital.”

Somehow I don’t find the clarification very reasuring.

      • Maynard says:

Wow. A new Egyptian leader is carried to victory by a mob screaming for blood and genocide, and the Christian Science Monitor blandly notes the election as a footnote in their condemnation of Fox News. Yep, those people sure know who the real enemy of civilization is. How can the West stand against the truly dangerous evils of the world when we’re constantly blasted by a cacophony of twaddle from these morally confused jackasses?

Don’t want to overreach but isn’t weakening our military, fouling our economy and domestic energy supply while giving money and weapons to these folks going against the grain?

  12. Mutnodjmet says:

Egypt’s only hope at this point is that their military leaders are sane enough to realize that attacking Israel would be full of failure, and that these same military leaders desire to be Egyptians first and not some tools of insane Saudi theocrats.

  13. Maynard says:

Oddly enough, although people almost always say “…peace in our time”, the actual quote is “…peace for our time”.

Tammy is right-this is the equivalent of Hitler’s winning Germany’s Chancellorship, however,we know now what they intend for the Jews. But to their peril, they don’t believe in the prophecies of the Bible and will not see it coming when God Himself delivers Israel through this “red sea”.

Morsi was a professor at Cal State Northridge and worked at NASA in the 1970s. So I guess that NASA outreach to improve muslim self-esteem worked out for BHO.

Two of Morsi’s 5 children were born in Calif. and are entitled to U.S. citizenship.

Obama has no idea how this can effect the world nor does he care. When Benjamin Netanyahu met him in the White House, he gave him the book of Esther, from the Bible. It is a story of how the Jews were hated and a law was written to annihilate them. But God turned the tables and destroyed the haters instead. BN tried to give BO a heads up but I think it flew over.
