August 9th is National Day in Singapore commemorating Singapore’s independence from Malaysia in 1965. The holiday is celebrated with parades and fireworks. Faced with a declining birthrate, this August 9th Singapore citizens are asked to create some fireworks of their own—in the bedroom. Mentos, maker of breath mints, is running an ad encouraging Singaporeans to do their duty.
