All I wanted was for Romney to be himself, be comfortable and get his points across. Instead, what did we get? Romneypalooza! Wow, just wow. He came, he saw, he clobbered and was Reaganesque on more than one occasion. Yes, Obama was awful, but Romney’s victory was due to his delivery, not to Obama’s failure. Romney would have done as well even if the Dumb Bastard had brought what some people call his “A Game.” Really, though, does that even exist? What we normally see is Obama prancing around a stage, never confronted, never challenged. Here you saw a petulant, arrogant smug little man apparently irritated by the very notion that he had to answer questions and explain himself.

Tonight’s debate not only allowed Romney to convey his message unfiltered, past an obsessed, malevolent mainstream media. It also confirmed Clint Eastwood’s assertion that the man in the White House is an Empty Chair.

I’ll have plenty to say on Tammy Radio tomorrow, but here are a couple of things to start our (yippee!) discussion. You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? If you missed tonight’s debate this AP image captures everything in a moment at the end. The Most Arrogant Man in the Room and his wife appear stunned as they look for a way to get off the stage while Romney savors his stellar performance.

I must admit, I found nothing sweeter than this clip from MSLSD, in which Chris Matthews shows us all what an angry nervous breakdown looks like:

Mediaite: Chris Matthews’ Epic Meltdown Over Obama Performance: ‘What Was He Doing Tonight?’

John Podhoretz mentioned that Romney moved to the center on many positions. I guess that’s the way to capture the undecided vote, and it will be interesting to see if he gets a “bump” out of the debate. But it proves Tammy’s point that we need a Teaparty Congress to steer Romney in our direction.

I only saw about 1/2 the debate, but Romney looked and sounded very good, if a bit too agreeable at times. Much of this comes down to image, and people who never saw or heard Romney before saw a patriot who is concerned about all of our people, and a man of experience who can get things done. They did not see the Ebeneezer Scrooge the O team tries to make Romney into. Hearkening back to Reagan and “Tip” O’Neil was a great reminder of how a Republican President can work with Democrats, while we all remember Obama’s response to Republican ideas for health care reform was to say “I Won” and totally ignore them.

Just looking at the two men, their demeanor, Romney’s enthusiasm and Obama’s lack thereof, and thinking of how bad things have been over the last four years, I’ll bet a lot of undecided voters decided they’d rather have Romney in charge. On “likeability” alone, Romney won many votes last night. Good work, Mitt.

Great photo. To be a little contrarian (I know, a contrarian TAM, who da thunk), I think BHO is just looking at his wife and going, uh oh I’m in trouble now.

Mooch definitely has the, why isn’t my alien vaporizer death ray working look in her eyes, just like that photo a few years ago where she’s looking at Carla Bruni.

I was driving home during the debate, so, sadly, I missed both the debate on TV and the live texts on Twitter and the Chat Room. I’m quite pleased for the meltdown by Chris Matthews, et al, but I didn’t get the impression that it was a huge success from merely the audio (I alternately turned on and off the radio depending on who was speaking… ) Must be the body language carrying more than it’s fair share :). So, 30 some odd days left… keep praying kids.

I purposely did not watch any pundits, or read any blogs about this debate (expect for the above video) because I wanted to “own” my reaction and not be influenced by others “take” on what was about to take place or what just took place. Romney OWNED that debate, I came to that conclusion on my own. I told my husband – “just look at their body language – says everything”. Romney exuded leadership and Obama looked beat, unable to even look at Romney or the few times he did he could not look him in the eye. Chris Mathews: I’ll tell you why Obamo did not mention the “47%” remark and other such lies. This would have given Romney the ability to talk to the american people, without the media filter and bias and set the record straight. Obama couldn’t allow him to do this.
My 80 year old father summed it up best in his post debate text to me – “WOW! Romney kicked butt!” 🙂

  13. Jeffrey says:

This gives me one bad ass TINGLE! Imagine the fall out after Romney WINS! BTW, Matthews asking “where was Obama last night” could be a stand alone thread!

The comments from El Presidente’s shills, syncophants, apparatchiks, operatives, et al are priceless:

    Here are some samples:

Michael Moore(The Fatass): ‘This is what happens when u pick John Kerry as your debate coach’
Van Jones(The Commie): “Romney was able to ‘out-Obama’ Obama
Carville(The Alien): ‘Romney came out with a chainsaw’
Maher(The Pig): “looks like he DOES need a teleprompter'(tweet then deleted)
Kristof(The NYT Lackey): ‘comes across as a constipated professor’
Sullivan(The Kissass): ‘He’s boring, abstract, and less human-seeming than Romney!’
Matthews(The Drooler): ‘I don’t know what he was doing out there…’
    Cutter(The Epitome): ‘It’s all the Ref’s Fault!'(I paraphased)

    Finally:

    Obama(The One): ‘Where’s Gary Johnson? I thought I was debating him!”…OK, I made this one up…

Here is a great suggestion for music for today’s show. This awesome country hit from 1992 by (conservative) singer Lorrie Morgan captures not only my mood over the last couple years about Obama but no doubt of a large number of “undecideds” who watched last night’s performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__nlUb5r6sY

That’s just the cherry on top. Mathews’ own narcissism leads him to blame Obama’s loss on the fact that Obama doesn’t watch MSNBC?

  20. Gordon says:

Looking at Moochelle’s and Urkel’s body language, particularly the positions of their feet, it looks like they have both wet themselves! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  21. Mutnodjmet says:

Upon reflection, I think the very best line of the debate was: “I’ve been in business for 25 years and I have no idea what you’re talking about”.

This sums up Obama’s entire first (and last) term.

This is what happens when a successful businessman debates an amateur golfer on taxee, budget, and fiscal policy.

I was a little surprised that the US Secret Service allowed the verbal lashing of Obama by Romney to continue. I hope Obamacare covers the cost of healing those marks Romney left.

    • Maynard says:

“I’ve been in business for 25 years and I have no idea what you’re talking about”.

Yeah, that marks the difference between the productive businessmen that know their stuff and the detached academics that couldn’t run a hotdog stand but think they know how to run the world. Obama’s a liar and an ignoramus, and this brief exchange (where Obama repeated the liberal canard that the government gives you a tax break if you shut your business and move to a foreign land) was as clear as it gets. That a man such as this should be managing the largest operation in the world, and be crafting policy that affects so many people, is a disgrace.

Ru: I’m also suggesting a prayer circle for ALL conservative/TeaParty type- candidates at state and local levels, since God can handle a lot of things at once.(kinda like we women multiplex….LOL)

And did anyone notice Jim Lehrah feeding the DB his lines when he went “long” or got off the track? (I noticed Jimmy do it at least 3 times…)

And when Lehrah rolled his eyeballs skyward, and closed ’em and looked like a little piggy headin’ for the abattoir when Mitt said “And, I’m sorry Jim, I like you, but I still want to defund PBS”… Mitt made my day. (“Got Chair?” as Clint says these days…)

and Dennis…think about all those Libbies singing a cappella-’cause they just had their “whatevers” handed to them- “We are poor little lambs, who have lost our way….bah….bah….bah….”

And the next presidential debate is, what, domestic and foreign policy? I see Bibi dancing the Hora now!

And to everyone: the VP debate’s a comin’…and Paul Ryan…he’s baaaaack!

    Yessssssssssssssss!

  26. geezee says:

The libs can lay this BOMB of OBOMBA’s last night at the feet of the corrupt press. Urkel has never had to answer a question. Has never had to know a damn thing, explain anything. Not only didn’t he WANT to be there last night, it was all over his face: he shouldn’t HAVE to be there! who do we think we are, expecting him to answer questions. I’m guessing at some point we are all racist for planning a debate >> entrapment!

  27. Kevin says:

It was fun witnessing history; the most profound ass-kicking in any presidential debate ever. (I’ve seen them all starting 1980) I agree Tammy, there were Reaganesque moments and I do not say that lightly, including citing the Constitution and Declaration of Independence when asked about the role of government. Mitt was actually more powerful compared to Reagan’s debate performances.

  28. BarbaraM says:

I hope the bloom is finally off this rose…Just look at their feet in the photo.

  29. Kimj7157 says:

“…a petulant, arrogant smug little man apparently irritated by the very notion that he had to answer questions and explain himself.” Perfect!!

Wow. Happier days are here again! Mitt did a fantastic job. So prepared. And I think BO will be in even worse form for the next 2 debates. This one will stay with him and he’ll be even more arrogant and angry. Otherwise, he’d have to face his failure and complete incompetance as POTUS. He’s been used to being handled with kid gloves. Now the gloves are off, and he’s gonna get pummelled!

    • TX Soldier254 says:

KimJ, maybe, just maybe, Mitt will cause O’Brother to say the now infamous Spanish words “No Mas” “No Mas” ¿Presidente Romney o Presidenta? “No Mas”!

Romney did the classic military “Spear Move”, right down the middle barrage.

Mitt with confidence and the truth hit the enemy hard at their axes.

Now, Romney has to do Search & Destroy missions since the enemy has scattered amongst the Media.

We are Mitt Romney’s Supply Line.

The Battle has begun, full of Death, Destruction, and always peppered with Mercy.

Governor Mitt Romney stay “Bad To The Bone”.

  36. Teri says:

Without the teleprompter telling him every word to speak the dumb bastard is lost. Not being able to walk away when confronted with a question he did not know how to or want to answer put this creep way out of his comfort zone. Instead of his coddlers suggesting what he should have done, they should see this as what we patriots who love our way of life and want to preserve it know. That Obama is a failure. He is bad for America. He is not a good man.

  37. ffigtree says:

Someone should tell Matthews you don’t bring knives to a chainsaw fight. 😉

  38. Teri says:

As for the coddling, have you heard Algores excuse for Obamas pathetic performance ? The Colorado altitude. He crawled out from under his rock to make that analysis.

  39. SoCalGal says:

Look at the look on Moochelle’s face. She is indeed an “angry black woman”. She must have bitched him out so bad when they were alone. Oy vey, I would have hated to be him. She is indeed very unattractive. Bye, bye Michelle, my belle.

  40. tamcat says:

Priceless photo. It says it all. Victory & defeat.

  41. Maynard says:

Tammy linked a TWS article, “Gore Blames Altitude for Obama’s Debate Woes”. Yes, altitude, that’s exactly it. The debate went right over Obama’s head. Har har har.

  42. geezee says:

Btw, does anyone agree with me, Urkel is so disrespectful to (his) daughters, the birth control comments and then
The ‘punish them w a baby’ comment. (the girls must b punishment) But in debate, he refers very disrespectfully to this or that ‘kid’…it is a nuance true, but so disrepectfu, to say ‘ so people can buy “their kid” a computer (or whatever ) …that’s what he really thinks, his opinion about them.
