Trying to catch up with Obama I see, letting liberals who are bankrupting this country define the agenda. This is what happens when you have no ideas of your own and why we’re in such trouble.

Via Breitbart., from Shark Tank.

The 844-page immigration reform bill the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” dropped in the dead of night contains a lucrative handout that would give taxpayer-funded free cell phones to some people who live or work near the U.S. border with Mexico.
Pages 43 and 44 of the bill detail what one conservative blogger, Javier Manjarres of Shark Tank, has already described as the “ObamaPhone” from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). That section reads:

SEC. 1107. ACCESS TO EMERGENCY PERSONNEL.
(a) SOUTHWEST BORDER REGION EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS GRANTS.—
(1) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary, in consultation with the governors of the States in the South- west Border region, shall establish a 2-year grant program, to be administered by the Secretary, to improve emergency communications in the Southwest Border region.
(2) ELIGIBILITY FOR GRANTS.—An individual is eligible to receive a grant under this subsection if the individual demonstrates that he or she—
(A) regularly resides or works in the Southwest Border region;
(B) is at greater risk of border violence due to the lack of cellular service at his or her residence or business and his or her proximity to the Southern border. (3) USE OF GRANTS.—Grants awarded under
this subsection may be used to purchase satellite telephone communications systems and service that—
(A) can provide access to 9–1–1 service;
and
(B) are equipped with global positioning systems.
(4) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.— There is authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the grant program established under this subsection.

Manjarres first found the immigration bill’s free cell phone goodies and dubbed the handout the “MarcoPhone.”

“Move over ‘Obama phone,’ we present the new ‘Hola, Como Estas?!’ MarcoPhone,” Manjarres wrote on Wednesday morning.

Rubio spokesman Alex Conant did not return a request for comment from Breitbart News.

Interestingly, Tracphone, a company that will likely benefit from this type of government program, is based in Rubio’s Miami, Florida.

Great, and the Repubs throw in a little Crony Capitalism while they’re at it!

    Let’s see if “the greatest communicator since Reagan” can talk himself outta this one. Hahaha! PuppetBoy.

  2. ancientwrrior says:

    Is the hand that makes Odumbo’s mouth move now in the Marco puppet?

  3. CO2aintpoison says:

    I am NO rube-ster supporter, but TracPHONE is in Rhode Island; versus Tracfone which is based in Florida. Tracphone is the company which they are looking to provide the SATELLITE cell phones as opposed to your ordinary cell phones because reception on the border evidently sucks so you need a beefed up unit. I still call bullshit on the bill though, but for other reasons.

    Speaking of hands, ancientwrrior, me thinks Marco hast overplayed his this time. Marco—-Polo—-Olley olley oxen free free free…you can come out now, Marco. We know who you are and where you’re hiding.

    In all fairness, Breitbart should mention that tracphone owners are OBAMA DONORS and ginormous Obama fans!!

    One of the major providers of the free cell phones—3.8 million subscribers as of late 2011—is Miami-based TracFone Wireless, a company whose president and CEO, Frederick “F.J.” Pollak, has donated at least $156,500 to Democratic candidates and committees this cycle, including at least $50,000 to the Obama campaign.

    Pollak’s wife, Abigail, is a campaign bundler for Obama who has raised more than $632,000 for the president this cycle, and more than $1.5 million since 2007. She has personally contributed more than $200,000 to Democratic candidates and committees since 2008.

    The Pollaks hosted Obama at their Miami Beach home in June for a $40,000-per-plate fundraising dinner, and hosted a similar event with Michelle Obama in July 2008. The couple personally donated a combined $66,200 to Obama’s reelection effort that year.

    Visitor logs indicate that Frederick and Abigail Pollak have visited the White House seven times.

    If Rubio keeps this up, Marcolepsy will become a new recognized disorder.

      Alain41: “marcolepsy” — LOL!

      I do love my Blackberry, but I think it’s time for me to upgrade. Where can I get one of those Marco things? I think I qualify, because I speak Spanish. Ciao! (Oh wait! I think that’s Italian…. Never mind.)

  7. deaves1 says:

    I live 3 miles north of the border. Can I get a free Rubio phone and other free stuff?

    It’s become apparent that the Emperor has no clothes…if it’s possible for an empty suit to have no clothes.
