IRS

My Washington Times column for this week has posted. I hope you enjoy it! Please Tweet, Facebook, Blog and spread the word! Thanks!

Washington Times: The IRS: A cultish clique of corruption and incompetence

Did you enjoy Tax Day? You know, April 15, the day you spent countless hours or perhaps days preparing for in order to obey the Internal Revenue Service’s rules demanding you report every single penny you spent and where you spent it.

Only when you’ve detailed for the government how you live your life, how you run your business and what charities you support, will the IRS deign to send you back any money you overpaid. Without interest, of course.

Tax Day is a day that many Americans approach with some dread because, who knows, if you get something wrong, they will come to get you.

Unless, of course, you work for the IRS.

That’s right. The patriotic duty of paying taxes is apparently only for us plebes. If you are an IRS employee, you can actually get a bonus, a raise and a bunch of extra days off if you don’t pay your taxes. Who knew?

Another excellent article, Tammy! Great job holding BOTH parties accountable for this mess: Democrats for their inherent corruption, and Republicans as their bumbling enablers.

Good column & good interview, timely. In related budget news, both parties in Congress are beginning to get peeved, peeved I say, that Obama doesn’t care at all about budgets. (Shock Alert: there is gambling in Rick’s Cafe) Why his budget submittal this year doesn’t adhere to any of the spending ‘restraints’ that Congress agreed to, to end the gov’t shutdown. So he’s making Congress make all the ‘hard’ cut the budget decisions and he’s not even up for election like they are. Why Congress is so peeved, they’re making anonymous comments to a reporter. http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-aloofness-hits-new-height-on-budget-sparks-hill-anger/article/2547714

It’s pathetic but still I have to laugh that Congress doesn’t see that their non-accountability toward the IRS feeds Obama’s dismissiveness toward them.
