Via Newsbusters: CBS Cheers Anniversary of ObamaCare; Uses WH Stats Passed Off as ‘Our Research Dept’
The CBS Evening News enthusiastically took to promoting ObamaCare in the form of a brief on its Monday night broadcast, hailing the fifth anniversary of President Obama signing the massive legislation into law. Anchor Scott Pelley began by reminding viewers that “[i]t was five years ago today that President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act known as ObamaCare.”
Continuing the White House spin, Pelley rattled off a few statistics regarding the health care law that he claimed were from “[o]ur research department,” starting with how “more than 16 million Americans have health insurance who didn’t have it before.”
Turns out, if one examines the on-screen graphic accompanying the statistic carefully, one will notice that the real source comes from none other than the White House….
Turning to a stat from the U.S. Census Bureau, Pelley also reported that “number of uninsured Americans has dropped from about 50 million to 26 million.”
And David Rhodes, CBS President, just had his contract extended through 2019. I’m sure David doesn’t speak with his WH employed brother, Ben.
And most of the 16 million are people that lost their private or company provided health insurance…I despise the Praetorian guard media as much, if not more, than you-know-who. When are they going to start “The Hunger Games”? And when are they going to declare Urkel President for life ala, “President Snow”?
When ever we see and hear things like this, it’s always my cue to post my favorite link of the past few years. Everything Caddell says was as true then as it is now.
