ISIS

Dr. Afzal Ashraf, a Consultant Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, has long been saying ISIS’s strength is exaggerated— mostly because the Iraqi army caved.

From a BBC opinion piece written by Dr. Ashraf in September, 2014.

After the shock of Islamic State’s (IS) land-grab in Iraq, horrifying videos of hostage beheadings and the public debates about possible terrorist attacks at home and military action abroad, it is unsurprising that people are worried.

Collectively, these factors have made the threat of IS appear greater and the situation more pessimistic than it is.

Of course, IS should be taken seriously and stopped, but the situation is more positive than many think.

A British Newspaper ran a story yesterday with the headline ISIS so weakened by Russian airstrikes and desertion it could be destroyed in HOURS” citing remarks made by Dr. Ashraf

It isn’t clear in reading the text that Dr. Ashraf literally said that but he did say—

“This mythical state will disappear in a matter of hours once the international community decides to act.

It also isn’t clear when he said that although the impression is that it is contemporaneous. Interesting nevertheless.

Russia claims ISIS is in a state of panic.

Could be a propaganda campaign or maybe ISIS is formidable only against weakness. If ISIS’s demise is imminent, we will know soon.

Even better news would be to learn that the Obama abomination would fall in hours. Can I have an amen?

Seems like the Russian bear doesn’t care about being politically correct and stomps on its foes no matter whom they hide behind. THAT is how we won WW2, but have now become wusses without any backbone.
