obama on 60 minutes

Psychotic disorders: Mental disorders in which a person’s personality is severely confused and that person loses touch with reality. As a psychologist myself not having a personal opportunity to meet with and diagnose him, I can’t say what his problem is, but whatever the issue his attitude here makes it clear he’s ignoring reality for one reason or another. After all, denial ain’t a river in Egypt.

Via Right Scoop:

Obama had another interview with 60 Minutes, and to Steve Kroft’s credit, he actually made Obama face up to the failures of his foreign policy in the Middle East. Of course, Obama’s ridiculous myopic arrogance won’t let him see what’s plainly obvious, and instead he gets visibly annoyed that Kroft would dare question his brilliance….

    Mr. President,

You must try to remember that dazzling them with your bullsh#t will only take you so far.

  2. If you need a reason to vote for a Republican as your next president, whoever it might be, this is a good one. The world is always in bad shape when an incompetent Democrat is in charge in America. And the next president is going to have quite a mess to clean up after this fool is out of office.

    Yesterday, on the air
    I heard a man that wasn’t there
    He wasn’t there again today
    I know, I know, he’s gang aft-agley

So Obama thinks condescension exhibits strength of leadership? And why not? He’s the mouth that soared. He was the Man Who’s Going Somewhere. It was all about a bright future. And now time has brought him here and us with him. A man of importance at a pivotal moment in history. Russia is ready for a comeback in a crumbling world. Some would still defend him over what role he played to bring us here. But this is it. This is the time for Obama to be the man so many saw his promising future to be. All those yesterdays of anticipation have arrived at the moment. Take charge! Lead the world to peace and reason! Too late they find the truth. The source of the sound that was so enchanting has been discovered. It isn’t the call of irresistible enlightened wisdom. It is a whimpering breeze rustling through reeds which are about to be trampled.

Part of a politician’s job is to be evasive under fire and always cover his rump. In a functional world, the politicians lie and the journalists root out the truth.

Given the inherent perversity of the arena, we don’t expect a politician to be honest with us. But we do want to get a sense that he is not lying more than he has to, and that he does so for the true common good, and not just a petty or partisan advantage.

For example, we thank God for Winston Churchill and his “bodyguard of lies”. In contrast, a politician like Nixon will stumble and lie for personal reasons.

The disturbing thing about Obama, and this is unprecedented in an American president, is he seems to be lying because he’s playing for the other team. This is so obvious and monstrous that many people simply can’t believe it (“cognitive dissonance”?), and they won’t believe until it’s too late.

Troops? No, sir, not just troops. In addition to troops, we now have Russia sitting pretty with an air base — or bases — and Russian aircraft, crews and maintainers; we have Russian and Chinese naval vessels in the area; and we have — wait for it — Iranian TROOPS there. Mr. President, please grow a pair, hike up your mommypants and stop embarrassing our country. If you worked with half the zeal defending America that you expended in hiding your school records, including peer-reviewed papers, we’d be building Walmarts and Starbucks in Syria by now.

This demented fool we have as a president has gone completely around the bend. His elevator does not go all the way to the top and his view of reality is so twisted that it might as well be on Mars. People like this was once held locked up in the funny farm.

  8. Sixth Sensical says:

I think his ‘disorder’ is moral rather than mental.

    • Cathode Rays says:

Yes, and I’m tired of the two being purposefully confused. Although I’m not surprised “People of the Lie” can exhibit serious mental disorders.

“Criminally insane” is a mouthful, but it distinguishes from being “mental.” And then there’s the moral component. Being “mental” isn’t a crime. Liberals and supposed conservatives play games with words all the time. All in a bid not to appear “judgmental.”

I suppose simply calling the Jackass in Chief “evil” would create fears of reprisal and rejection from a “leadership” position. This speaks to “leadership” and Western society, and it’s a shame.

You’ve hit on it using fewer words. 🙂

  9. Ginger says:

Warnings about this man’s mental health, or lack thereof, were rampant in 2008 during the primaries. The media, as usual covered for him. Now, after almost 8 years, we get an interviewer who actually prods him a wee bit, and that just doesn’t sit too well with His Highness.

Focused vindictiveness that consistently degrades one side while bolstering the other would seem to indicate psychotic.

  11. Charles_PA says:

I took one psychology course 36 year’s ago and Obama is easy to diagnose: the guy’s a lunatic, fool, madman, wacko, nutter, loon, etc. Take your choice. Don’t bother trying to figure out what Obama’s problem(s) is(are), you’ll only drive yourself crazy.

  12. Piquerish says:

Obama is not misinformed. He’s malformed.
