fieldston school-1

The Ethical Culture Fieldston School is an elite private school in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.

What? You thought all of the Bronx looked like the movie ‘Ft. Apache, the Bronx’ ?

Riverdale is a tony section of the Bronx, and no self-respecting person living there will ever respond “the Bronx” when asked where they live.

It’s always: Riverdale

Tuition at the Fieldston School is $45,000 a year.

And looks like these parents are really getting their money’s worth for their little darlings. Not.

Via NY Post:

…As The Post reported, swastikas have been popping up all over campus this fall and a notebook was found with the words “Hitler Rocks” on the front. At least one student at the $45,000-a-year school drew a swastika during art class. A school spokesman, though, explained that the student “drew a symbol that represents peace.” The art teacher told him that the image could also mean hate to some people….

In order to address the concerns of Jewish students on campus, the school held a meeting with the sixth-graders.

The meeting could have lasted about two minutes and offered the following explanation: The swastika is a symbol of Nazism. Nazis exterminated 6 million Jews in the last century and about 5 million others, including Soviet prisoners of war, disabled people, homosexuals…etc.

Instead, parents say “teachers spent nearly 12 of the 15 minutes on a PowerPoint presentation on how the swastika was still considered a sacred symbol — while only briefly mentioning how the Nazis had adopted it in the 1920s.” And they never mentioned the word Holocaust.

An irony of our age of microaggressions and trigger warnings is that anti-Semitism has become increasingly acceptable in schools. College campuses are overrun with movements to “boycott” and “divest” from Israel, motivated and accompanied by virulently anti-Semitic rhetoric….

The Post reports Tuesday that the school plans an assembly to apologize for the swastika incident, and is considering adjusting its curriculum as well. Fine, but it misses the educational atmosphere at the school that enabled this to happen in the first place….

Wikip: The Swastika…is known most widely as an important symbol long used in Indian religions, denoting “auspiciousness.”

Wikip: The Ethical movement..or simply Ethical Culture…was an outgrowth of the general loss of faith among the intellectuals of the Victorian era….The belief that morality is independent of theology…educating the young is the most important aim….

Knock, knock. Who’s there? National Socialists Lives Matter.
    Yep, Highly auspicious.
(When independent of theology turns to anti-theology, it’s always the Jooos.)

Hitler often used religious symbols in the attempt to have the NAZI movement gain legitimacy. The swastika has been a Buddhist symbol for centuries as has it been to the American Indians as well. It can be seen in the backgrounds of old Chinese martial arts movies such as “The 36th Chamber of Shaolin” with Gordon Lau (better known from the “Kill Bill” movies). The NAZI salute was stolen from the Catholic salute seen at Catholic weddings. It is a travesty that evil movements corrupt the meaning of peaceful and religious symbols eventually making them something to be hated but this practice has been common throughout history.
