Melissa Harris-Perry had a mini head-explosion over Darth Vader, a “totally black guy,” who then goes over to the “good side,” takes off his mask, and is…white!
But, did it trouble her that the storm troopers, also evil guys, are all white?

She goes on to complain:

As NewsBusters astutely points out, would have it made more sense for an obviously white character, Luke, to have his father unmasked as black?
Thank goodness Audrey Hepburn sang in My Fair Lady. And I’m glad that stunt performers are no longer employed in Hollywood and that all scenes are shot on location. Hollywood being inauthentic would just ruin movies. Ready for your closeup Ms. Harris-Perry.
BTW: “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” has been remastered for HD broadcast and is very good. The racism and sexism in that 50’s film would have her fizzing and worrying that the gill man is real.
