daily news donald trump

The NYDN is hemorrhaging money, and so far, potential buyers have backed away from any deal.

Memo to NYDN: You are not winning friends or influencing anyone with your pathetic attention-seeking cover stunts.

Just saying.

Via CBS News:

The New York Daily News tweeted an early view of their Wednesday front cover, and the illustration on it already has people talking.

The front page appears to be a cartoon depiction of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump beheading the Statue of Liberty.

The text is inspired by a famous passage from German pastor Martin Niemöller’s lectures about the Nazis. Twitter users almost immediately began reacting to the cover, with both praise and condemnation….

And, here is one of their recent tweets:

Because, if you can’t win an argument on the merits, just throw out some idiotic ‘Hitler comparison.’

    Steven Sotloff and James Foley.

It is the actual cover. I saw at newsstand this morning as I bought NYPost and WashTimes.

In 2011, NYDN had Trump on cover in clown face as Sideshow Don. That was when Trump was questioning whether Obama was U.S. citizen and the WH called him a sideshow. That cover was fair. This is not. Fun quote by David Plouffe => “There is zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people,” http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/donald-trump-white-house-sideshow-diss-proves-obama-sees-threat-2012-article-1.112725

NYDN owner, Mortimer Zuckerman, went to McGill U., Wharton, and Harvard law. Also owns U.S. News & World Report and formerly owned The Atlantic. Guessing that he wanted to be another Sulzberger and/or Graham. Oh wait, just looked at condition of NYT and WaPo. He’s achieved.

Waste of ink, trees, electricity and gas. Going extinct like tabloids that used to feature stories about Martians eating our dinosaurs.

Taranto, observing the benighted state of the New York Times, put it this way: “The Times’s front-page editorializing may be an attempt to keep up with the Daily News, a New York tabloid that could be described as the Times for infants.”

  4. Maynard says:

To the extent that Trump strays into outrageous territory for the shock value, you might say the Daily News is just trying to trump Trump.
