President Barack Obama said “there are no existential threats facing” the United States.

In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer on “Today” airing Tuesday, Obama acknowledged, “We are still battling terrorism” but he insisted, “We remain the strongest nation on earth by far and there are no existential threats facing us, but if we make some good choices now, whoever the next president is, whoever is controlling the next Congress there, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t own the 21st century.”

That’s a rejection of the basis for the Non-proliferation Treaty. Eg, that an expansion of nuclear weapons is an Existential threat to all civilization. Funny how the Iran nuke deal was needed for NPT purposes and now the basis for NPT doesn’t exist. Politician Lies are an Existential threat to a nation. Always have been, always will be.

Since he appears to hesitate to mention Islam as anything other than peaceful, he probably does not recognize many outside threats to America at all. I suppose that to him “work place violence” and radical militia groups in America are likely to be the only real threats to our safety.

The DNC is our worst threat.

This is the class of assertion that WSJ’s Taranto files under “The Soft Bigotry of Low Expectations”.
