Looks like Professor Tushnet needs a good kick… in his tush.

Via Breitbart.

A Harvard Law professor is telling his fellow liberals that the culture wars are over and the victorious Left should treat conservative Christians the way the allies treated Germany and Japan after World War II, offering no quarter or clemency.

In an online post, the 70-year-old professor Mark Tushnet… a surviving member of the old guard of 1960s liberal elites, advises his like-minded minions to unabashedly take up “aggressively liberal positions,” because they will no longer meet resistance, especially after the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

Since “they lost, we won,” Tushnet confidently announces, it is time to press the liberal advantage and abandon any defensive positions….

For liberals,” Tushnet writes, “the question now is how to deal with the losers in the culture wars. That’s mostly a question of tactics. My own judgment is that taking a hard line (‘You lost, live with it’) is better than trying to accommodate the losers.”

“Trying to be nice to the losers didn’t work well after the Civil War, nor after Brown,” he notes, whereas “taking a hard line seemed to work reasonably well in Germany and Japan after 1945.”….

Seriously?! He’s saying that Reconstruction was being ‘nice to the losers’! There’s discussion that Reconstruction wasn’t as bad as traditionally it’s been made out to be and at the time there were many that wanted it to be harsher , but no one argues that it was, nice to the losers. And when he says that it didn’t work out well; for whom exactly? The North ran everything, not the South. Is he implying that there is still an independent spirit and that Reconstruction should have crushed that? If so, then he misses that the independent spirit is in the nation as a whole. Obviously, he hates States Rights. Leftists always want strong central government. As Tammy says, fascism is from the Left.

This is chilling. Such rhetoric we freely expressed in Germany in the 30’s leading up to the war. A prelude to genocide is the devaluation or dehumanization of the to-be-oppressed. Pushing back is important as it gives the would be oppressors pause.

The learned professor may be correct in his assessment that the left has won the culture war, or at least the most recent battles. But the actual war isn’t fought on the physical realm, or so says history.

What he does NOT appreciate is the ‘but God’ moment recorded in 2nd Chronicles 7:14.

“(If) my people, who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We strive in the political arena, argue, persuade, etc. etc. but there is a larger battle being waged we often ignore. Perhaps the ‘National Day of Prayer, May 5th’, ought to be a daily battle?

Watching the “product” of the elite colleges reminds us that courageously and effectively exercising our 1st Amendment rights in opposition to their insanity is a must, and keeping our 2d Amendment rights forever safe as a last defense against their tyranny. The US Govt is a cesspool of these maniacs.

What makes this so dangerous to me is that people listen to him and take his comments as a war cry for them.
