Which would be meaningless unless she’s under oath, and especially stupid if they don’t intend to hold her accountable. Considering they never held Clapper accountable for lying to them (which he admitted) and allowed the IRS’ Lois Lerner to escape after she voided taking of the 5th by making a statement, we should only presume this would be another dog and pony show. Unless President Trump demands otherwise.

Note in his comments he’s already presuming the swamp will “downplay” the situation. This would be remarkable considering the severity and unprecedented nature of the action.

GOP Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said he believes former National Security Advisor Susan Rice should testify before Congress on her request to unmask the names of Trump transition officials collected during routine intelligence-gathering operations.

Paul argued the situation should not be downplayed, saying reforms need to be made to prevent individuals from being blackmailed on personal aspects of their lives through unmasking. He noted there was nothing stopping the former administration from looking through Trump officials and national security advisors’ conversations during the transition window.

“If it is allowed, we shouldn’t be allowing it, but I don’t think should just discount how big a deal it is that Susan Rice was looking at these,” he told reporters Monday. “And she needs to be asked, ‘Did President Obama ask her to do this? Was this a directive from President Obama? I think she should testify under oath on this.”

Paul said he has long thought there are too many people with the ability to unmask individuals.

And Obama knew *nothing* about this? I hope he enjoys his mojitos in French Polynesia while his buddy Susan gets thrown under the bus.

And why wasn’t she ever called to testify on the “Bengahzi you tube” lie?

Anyway, let’s hope Darrell Issa doesn’t lead the inquiry.

I will be so troubled if this results in no consequence because if they do this to each other they will surely do it to us, the average American citizen. We however, would not be so luck as to escape consequence. It’s very disturbing.

I agree. But as I can predict the future, this is another nothing burger.
Rice would take the fifth and no one will get in trouble. If Hillary
got away with it every Dem would. Only GOP’s go to jail.If I am wrong, I’ll owe every Tam a dollar.

I would like to see these people lay out a road map and go on the record for where these hearings will lead given such-and-such contingencies. We get the impression that the hearings are the end in themselves, and it’s all the usual Kabuki theater to keep the dumb rubes happy. If that’s not the case, then they should say so…and follow up to maintain continuity between yesterday’s aspirations and today’s progress.
