Ugh. For a man who the press will make things up about to attack, it’s a disaster to make such a remarkably stupid comment, and on top of it all, on Passover! This is the big league, and if you actually think about making a Hitler comparison, please get it right.

At this point, I’d say getting another press secretary is not a bad idea.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer apologized Tuesday evening after causing a firestorm for saying that Adolf Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” against his own people like Syrian strongman Bashar Al-Assad.

Spicer, speaking from the White House podium at the daily press briefing, said that Hitler, whom he called “despicable,” did not use “the gas on his own people the same way Assad used them.”

He sought to clarify his remarks in three separate follow-up statements — which did little to help — and then provided a full-blown apology.

“To draw any kind of comparison to the Holocaust was inappropriate and insensitive,” he told NBC News.

He later continued, referring to the Jewish holiday of Passover, “I’m absolutely sorry, especially during a week like this to make a comparison that is inappropriate and inexcusable.”

The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect called on President Donald Trump to can Spicer.

“Sean Spicer now lacks the integrity to serve as White House press secretary, and President Trump must fire him at once,” Steven Goldstein, the organization’s executive director, said in a statement.

I agree, he should resign.

In professional tennis there are ‘unforced errors’. A player must have as few as possible, or else the game can be lost. Spicer is a ‘unforced error’ machine. And as Press Secretary under extreme pressure from the Democrat/Media Complex this is cause for termination when they are constantly made at the podium. And if you’ve seen and listened, he never, ever, pushes back the reporters and gets into back and forth debates and accepts multiple questions from the same reporter. It’s out of control in the Press Room.

Semi-Related topic: Tufts U. (alma mater) Student Senate voted late Sunday night for an anti-Israel motion to divest from 4 companies alleged of human rights violations against Palestinians. Proceeding audio was broadcast but no video, film, or photos were allowed to ‘protect’ the security of those discussing. Who needs hoods when you can ban pictures. Meeting was last one for the year. Presume that vote held then so as to get out of town afterwards. Who says Congress doesn’t lead today’s students. To University’s credit, the President condemned the vote. However, Tufts like most colleges, hasn’t been pushing back on leftism. Will have to see how Alumni push back over the summer may change situation. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/apr/11/tufts-student-senate-divestment-vote-stirs-outrage/
