This is a new low for the anti-Jewish UNESCO.

According to the Bible, the patriarchs and matriarchs of the Jewish people – Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Leah- are buried in Hebron.

The Arabs revere Abraham, but how does this very ancient holy Jewish site somehow become “Palestinian” ?

As Benjamin Netanyahu said, in 2015, when UNESCO demanded that Israel renounce claim of their religious sites:

“The attempt to detach the people of Israel from its heritage is absurd…if the places where the fathers and mothers of the Jewish nation are buried… some 4,000 years ago are not part of the Jewish heritage then what is?”

And, on a personal note, my mother’s cousins emigrated from Russia to Hebron in the 1920’s. In August of 1929, on the Jewish Sabbath, Arabs attacked the Jewish community in Hebron, after being provoked by their religious leaders. 67 Jews were slaughtered. The remaining Jews left Hebron. My mother’s cousins moved to Jerusalem.

A United Nations body ruled Friday that an ancient Jewish holy site is now part of Palestinian heritage.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted to make the Tomb of the Patriarchs and the Old City of Hebron Palestinian heritage sites, despite intense push-back from Israel and the United States. Twelve member states voted in favor of the resolution, which the Palestinians initially put forward, while only three were against it.

UNESCO’s decision sparked a fiery response from Israeli leaders, who feel the organization is being used as a political tool in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

“It’s disappointing and embarrassing to see UNESCO denying history and distorting reality time after time to knowingly serve those who try to wipe the Jewish state off the map,” said Naftali Bennet, Israel’s education minister and chairman of the Israeli UNESCO committee….

This might all be negotiable if the Arab track record with respect to all things Jewish was not so hateful and destructive. Look at the fate of the synagogues and graveyards of the Jewish quarter of Jerusalem when it was under Arab jurisdiction.

  2. MACVEL says:

The UN apparently wants the Jews to disappear. Very sinister.

I am so fed up with the UN and the “palestiniian”
