Displaying a sign that said “Communism will win” while in uniform and displaying a t-shirt of mass murderer Che Guevara– under his uniform– are just two of the public examples of this guy promoting what appears to be the overthrow of the US government. I have a tiny feeling there are more problems with this guy. Or maybe he just wants a job with MSNBC?

At first I thought the pictures on social media had to be photoshops, but remarkable absurdities like this now seem to be part of the meltdown of the left. It’s not *common* yet, and so we have a chance to send a message about what’s acceptable and waht’s not. But what should we expect after Americans putting up with Obama’s destruction for 8 years? It could give one the impression that Americans don’t care anymore.

The U.S. Army has opened an investigation into West Point graduate Second Lieutenant Spenser Rapone for appearing to openly advocate for communism on social media.

Pictures of Rapone in uniform at West Point promoting pro-communism messages spread wildly around the internet Monday, in effect forcing West Point to issue a statement in response. The statement noted the Army has launched an investigation into Rapone’s activities.

“The U.S. Military Academy strives to develop leaders who internalize the academy’s motto of Duty, Honor, Country, and who live the Army values,” West Point said in a statement released Tuesday. “Second Lieutenant Rapone’s actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army. As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform. Second Lieutenant Rapone’s chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter. The academy is prepared to assist the officer’s chain of command as required.”

Rapone has complained that the military as such “deifies capitalism/imperialism with a brutally hierarchical rank structure” and said that his fellow service members “lust for war and conflict. They fetishize violence.”

In June 2016, Rapone said that because “Fascists dehumanize political opponents… Violence against the far right is resistance, not aggression.”

Pamela Rice’s post has good additional info. on this.

Mr. Rapone did not go to West Point from High School. He enlisted in the Army out of HS, became an Army Ranger, did an overseas tour, earning a Combat Infantry badge. He then got into West Point through the enlisted men to a Military Academy program. West Point can take up to 85 active enlisted each year. So the Army had several years of evaluations of Mr. Rapone. Seems to me that there are 2 choices. Either the Army’s evaluations did not uncover his views or they did. If the latter, did he get in because he’s exactly the type of person that Obama wanted to be a leading officer of tomorrow? If yes, then there are more from the enlisted men to Academies program.
