Leno & Rosemary LaBianca

Van Houten.

Last year when this happened California Governor Jerry Brown overruled the parole board. I don’t care how old she is. I don’t care that she got two degrees while in prison. I don’t care that she’s helped old people. Her murders of two innocent people destroyed the future for them and forever mangled life for their family. Letting this savage walk is an insult to decent people everywhere.

Leslie Van Houten, the youngest of Charles Mason’s murderous followers, has been granted parole by a California board.

Van Houten, who was 19 when she killed for Manson in 1969, appeared before a parole panel for the 21st time Wednesday.

Gov. Jerry Brown now has a 120-day period to affirm, reverse or take no action on the decision.

Last year, a similar panel granted her parole but was overruled by the governor.

Over two nights in August 1969, Manson’s ragtag band of followers killed seven people, including actress Sharon Tate.

Van Houten, now 68, didn’t take part in the first night’s killings of Tate and four others. But she helped kill grocer Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, on the second night.

Since her incarceration more than 40 years ago, she has been a model prisoner.

Oh, please, a ‘model prisoner.’ I’m sure. After all, there’s little ability to ambush and murder unsuspecting and innocent families when you’re incarcerated.

If you’re not familiar with the heinousness of Van Houten’s crime, here are the details: Leslie Van Houten stabbed Rosemary LaBianca 14 times. Will Manson follower go free?

Please contact California Governor Jerry Brown and urge him to, as he did last year, to overrule the parole board. Click here for his office contact page, which includes a form you can use, and the direct contact information. Here is his address and phone.

I am stunned by this turn of events. Thanks, Tammy, for the contact information. Hope Gov. Moonbeam does the right thing, and keeps her locked up.

An absolute disgrace. Thanks for the information too. I will follow up first thing in the a.m. to let Jerry Brown know exactly what I think.
