Why is the Des Moines Register endorsement so coveted by the Dem candidates, since their editorial board seems totally clueless?
And here is another question, from Matt Wolking, Deputy Director of communications for the Trump campaign:
The Des Moines Register says Elizabeth Warren, who lied about being Native American in order to get ahead and lied about sending her son to private school, would “treat truth as something that matters.”
Are they idiots or just messing with us?

Via Daily Wire.
Ahead of the Iowa caucuses next week, The Des Moines Register endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren, saying she would “treat truth as something that matters.”….
Warren has a difficult relationship with the truth (to put it mildly). She keeps getting caught stretching the truth, but the Register, along with The New York Times, think she’s the best candidate in the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination….
On the campaign trail last week in Iowa, Warren was asked by CBS News reporter Zak Hudak: “Is it disqualifying for a presidential candidate to lie to the American public about anything?”
“Uh, I would think that it, you know, how could the American people want someone who lies to them?” Warren stammered. “Um, I think that, that we just do our best out there every day, and I hope that’s what happens with everyone.”

Is the Des Moines Register’s endorsement really that meaningful now that it’s just another Gannett paper?
All politicians lie, and everybody knows it. Some lies are irrelevant or benign and some are problematic, but I do wish politicians would stop calling each other liars as if that in itself were meaningful. Personally I find the self-important faux-pious sincerity of most politicians an insult to my intelligence; Trump’s boorish vulgarity is often inappropriate but I appreciate the implicit acknowledgement that politics is mostly bull—- and can’t be taken too seriously. As for Warren’s pledge to “treat truth as something that matters”…well, a liar certainly treats the truth as something that matters; that’s why he lies about it! Maybe Warren should have pledged to tell the truth, and Honest Injun!

Speaking of Massachusetts Natives; 2020 is the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock. US, UK, Netherlands & the Wampanoag have a number of events throughout the year. In Sept. is the Celebration of the landing at Provincetown Harbor on Nov.11. Plymouth Rock landing was Dec. 18.
Pilgrims originally wanted to go to Hudson River NYC, New Amsterdam area but poor winds prevented that so they settled for Plymouth Mass.
