Hillary Pledges to Jail Her Critics
by Maynard on February 11, 2016Does everyone remember Citizens United v. FEC? It’s the SCOTUS ruling that overturned the McCain-Feingold Act. Liberals complained loudly about the dangers of corporate money in politics (I think it’s fair to say we’re all concerned about money in politics), completely ignoring the fundamental facts of the specific case: In particular, that an independent organization had made a film critical of a powerful politician (“Hillary the Movie”), and the government tried to suppress that film. This was the very definition of political censorship, and it’s chilling to think that four of the nine Justices were okay with it. Hillary’s latest words have prompted a Slate writer to reluctantly acknowledge that we’ve got a point. This is in an opinion piece,...

Does Facebook Have An Anti-Israel Bias?
by Shifra on January 8, 2016Facebook says “no.” This video indicates “yes.” Via Breitbart: A new experiment in which two hate-filled Facebook pages were created proves that the social network has double standards when it comes to incitement against Israel. Shurat Hadin, an Israeli civil rights NGO, launched “The Big Facebook Experiment,” in which two identical Facebook pages were created with only one difference. One, called “Stop Israel,” was filled with inciting messages against Israel, while the other, “Stop Palestinians” was anti-Palestinian. Only the latter was removed by Facebook as being in violation of their community standards….

Will Twitter Use New Rules To Stifle Conservatives?
by Shifra on December 31, 2015Fasten your seatbelts, people. Looks like 2016 might be a bumpy ride… Via Right Scoop: There is a really interesting change in Twitter’s online abuse rules, and it really appears as if they could be used to kick conservatives off the social media platform if they are reported by the left. Yahoo News explains the change: Twitter Inc has clarified its definition of abusive behaviour that will prompt it to delete accounts, banning “hateful conduct” that promotes violence against specific groups. The social media company disclosed the changes on Tuesday in a blog post, following rising criticism it was not doing enough to thwart Islamic State’s use of the site for propaganda and recruitment…. The new rules do not mention...

Two Journalists Banned From Debate… On Whether Feminism Stifles Free Speech
by Shifra on October 8, 2015Why have a public debate at all? These special snowflakes students might feel unsafe, triggered, or “micro-aggresssed” in an environment where ideas might be challenged. Via Daily Caller: A pair of journalists critical of modern feminism have been banned from a university event that, ironically, focuses on whether feminism is stifling modern free speech. The University of Manchester Free Speech & Secular Society is scheduled to hold a public debate Oct. 15 titled “From Liberation to Censorship: Does Modern Feminism Have a Problem with Free Speech?” Initially, two journalists, Milo Yiannopoulos of Breitbart and Julie Bindel of the Guardian, were invited to speak at the debate. Both have since been barred from attending because their opinions are considered too offensive....

Art Exhibit With Mice as ISIS Threatening Other Cute Animal Figurines Removed
by Pat_S on September 26, 2015I’ve never heard of them but Sylvanian Families are plastic toys popular in Japan and other countries. They were somewhat popular in the U.S. back in the 80’s. They’ve been reintroduced here, known as Calico Critters. From the Sylvanian Families website: Since 1985, Sylvanian Families has been loved by many people around the world. It is a nostalgic toy range that attracts people in different age groups. Based on three concepts, Nature, Family and Love, children can explore the power of imagination and learn to care and share with one another. U.S. Jewish Singer Matisyahu Banned From European Event, Reinvited To Perform
by Shifra on August 19, 2015Reggae singer Matisyahu (Hebrew, for ‘Mattathias’) was born Matt Paul Miller, to a secular Jewish family in Pennsylvania. As a teenager, he began taking drugs, and dropped out of high school. In 1995, he traveled in Israel, and began studying about his Jewish heritage. He returned to the U.S., and settled in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, joining, for a time, with the Chabad Hasidic sect. He began to blend reggae music with Jewish themes, and was known as the “American Jewish Hasidic Reggae Rapper.” Although no longer part of the Hasidic sect, he strongly identifies as Jewish. Matisyahu was scheduled to appear at the Reggae Rototom Sunsplash Festival in Spain this week. But, in typical fashion, the anti- Israel BDS (Boycott,...

Lib Language-Police Alert: U. of NH Unveils ‘Bias-Free Word Guide’
by Shifra on July 29, 2015Looks like Tammy’s The New Thought Police is alive and well: According to the new “bias-free word guide,” you can no longer say: ‘Going Dutch.’ You must now say: “splitting the bill.” “Caucasian” is also out. Now, it’s “European-American.” And, no more “rich” or “poor.” From now on: “person of material wealth” or “person who lacks advantages that others have.” Because…bias! micro-aggression! Via Campus Reform: “American,” “illegal alien,” “foreigners,” “mothering,” and “fathering” are just a handful of words deemed “problematic” by the University of New Hampshire’s Bias-Free Language Guide. According to the university’s website, the guide “is meant to invite inclusive excellence in [the] campus community.” The guide defines words such as “homosexual” as “problematic,” offering “Same Gender Loving” as...

MSNBC Lib Loon Alert: Demands FCC Fines For ‘Misgendering’ Transgenders
by Shifra on July 28, 2015This self-described ‘equality advocate’ has apparently never heard of that pesky thing called the First Amendment. Via BizPac Review: ….Danielle Moodie-Mills, who calls herself an “equality advocate,” appeared on MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” show Sunday advocating her Gestapo position. “We need to stop misgendering people in the media,” she said, inventing another new word for liberals to use. “There needs to be some type of fine that’s put into place for outlets, for media outlets, whether they be print, online, radio or what have you that decide that they’re just not going to call people be their name, right, and that they’re going to misgender them just because they can.” Ms. Moodie-Mills might not realize it, but “just because they can,”...

Left-Leaning Mag Apologizes For ‘Transphobic’ Cat Meme, Trashes Conservatives
by Shifra on April 20, 2015On the Weekend Special Report, Tammy talked about liberals being bitter, miserable people who have no sense of humor. And here is a perfect example: Via Right Scoop: Humor website apologizes for ‘transphobic’ cat-meme tweet, attacks ‘lunatic conservatives’ who defended them! The humor website “Boing Boing” is pretty reliably leftist, which is why people freaked out when they made a pretty funny joke with a cat-meme…. So, after much outrage from offended (and humor-challenged) Leftists, Boing Boing deleted the tweet with this apology: We're sorry for this offensive tweet. Its transphobia was unintentional, but the hurt it caused is our responsibility pic.twitter.com/vGCqqIdU65 — Boing Boing (@BoingBoing) April 17, 2015 And then they trashed Conservatives who had defended their right to...

Maine Coach Loses Job After FB Post Challenging Obama’s Islam Comments
by Shifra on April 6, 2015Fourteen years ago, Tammy wrote The New Thought Police. It is remarkable, and frightening, that the book remains so relevant today. Via Right Scoop: Coach LOSES JOB after sharing ‘open letter to Obama’ challenging Islam’s part in American history After four years at the helm of Fryeburg Academy’s boys lacrosse team, Scott Lees of Conway said he was forced by academy officials to resign as head coach after sharing on Facebook an open letter to President Barack Obama that was unflattering to Muslims…. “I just thought it was an interesting article,” said Lees, who added he’s a politically minded independent conservative. “I thought it was an interesting letter to President Obama and his current administration who are not paying attention...

Holder Finally Investigates a Scandal: The Obama Presidential Outhouse
by Shifra on July 14, 2014Remember when the Bush Department of Justice investigated the placing of a billboard on Tenth Avenue in Manhattan, with the words “This Is Our President” and a picture of President Bush as Alfred E. Neuman? Yeah, neither do I. That billboard remained there for the last two years of W.’s Presidency. But back then, we were all guaranteed the right of Freedom of Speech, so nothing happened. No investigation, no comment from the Bush Administration. Fast forward to July 4, 2014. The citizens of Norfolk, Nebraska, held a parade, and one of the parade floats, a flatbed truck, held a “zombie-like mannequin” standing next to an outhouse labeled “Obama Presidential Library.” Via Daily Caller: Eric Holder Gets Serious About Limiting...

Periodic Table Code Causes A Reaction: Girl’s Graduation In Jeopardy
by Pat_S on May 20, 2014Paris Gray appears to me to be a model student. She is the senior class vice president. She is involved with Students Against Drunk Driving and other organizations. She was scheduled to deliver an inspirational talk at her upcoming high school graduation. Now she’s in trouble because of a clever message she entered in her yearbook. When the going gets tough, just remember to Barium Carbon Potassium Thorium Astatine Arsenic Sulfer [sic] Uranium Phospheros [sic].” The periodic symbols for these elements spell out a message: BaCK ThAt AsS UP. This phrase happens to be the title of some twerk verbal sewage which passes for musical entertainment these days. I’m not even sure the school administration went so far as to...

Media Bias Alert==> WaPo Reports On WH Pastry Chef Departure, Omits Half The Story
by Shifra on March 19, 2014Searching for articles on the White House pastry chef’s departure, I noticed that several newspapers had picked up the story. In a nutshell, WH pastry chef Bill Yosses, who was hired by Laura Bush in 2007, has decided to leave. The Daily Caller reports that his decision is “bittersweet,” and cites Michelle Obama as having “ordered Yosses to make healthier plates in smaller portions.” Similarly, The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Yosses says that Michelle Obama is to blame. Since she came to the White House, she’s ordered Yosses to cut down the portions in addition to making them healthier. First it was replacing the butter. Then the sugar. “I don’t want to demonize cream, butter, sugar and eggs,” Yosses said....
