The US Now Ranks 19th in ‘Social Progress,’ with Finland & Canada Topping the List
by Tammy on July 1, 2016The Obama legacy full steam ahead! We have an appointment on 11/8 to change the direction of this nation from down to up. Just saying. Via WSJ. The United States has fallen to 19th place in a global ranking of well-being, down three spots from last year. That’s according to the 2016 edition of the Social Progress Index, one of the most comprehensive international measures of well-being. America was eclipsed by Belgium, Spain and France in the past year according to the measure, which evaluates countries on their ability to provide basic human needs (measures of water and shelter), the foundations of well-being (measures of health and education) and opportunity (measures of equality and personal rights). The U.S. is the...

Video: Tammy Discusses National Review’s Slamming Of Trump
by Shifra on January 26, 2016Tammy asks of the National Review’s effort to derail the Trump candidacy: Where were they when John Boehner passed the largest tax increase in history? There has never been a real symposium against the liberal dynamic. This is a misreading of what the base is thinking. NR would be better suited trying to figure out what to be *for,* because Americans vote *for,* not *against* things, and to figure out how to articulate the conservative ideal. Reflections on the Carr vs. Alexander Tennessee Race
by Rob_W on August 11, 2014**Bumped Up From TAM Wire. Posted By Rob_W** While the election results were heartbreaking, there is much to be encouraged, and yes, even energized about. We did not win, but we are winning. Senator Lamar Alexander did not run away with this election, as most predicted he would. He was forced to buy the election, spending $7 million. He resorted to last minute robo-calls in which he falsely claimed his vote for Senate Bill 744 was a vote against amnesty. In spite of all of this, he could only capture 49.7% of the vote. The award for the tackiest campaign commercial goes to Mike Huckabee, who had nerve to lecture Tennesseans on being loyal to Alexander and threaten us by...

Gov. Scott Walker on Why Conservatives Don’t Need to Move to the Center to Win
by Tammy on December 4, 2013Terrific brief vidcast with Gov. Walker from the Heritage Foundation. He’s one of my favorites for 2016. For me, he’s proven his mettle with how he handled the unions in Wisconsin and surviving the recall, doing so with resolve, maintaining a steady, focused demeanor, and without becoming a cartoon figure or blowhard. I look forward to hearing more from him and seeing how he stands up to the heat of the national arena! Three governors have faced recall elections in U.S. history. Wisconsin Republican Scott Walker is the only one to survive – and with a larger margin of victory the second time around. How did he do it? Walker visited Heritage for an interview with Jackie Anderson to talk...
