DNC Platform Committee Member: Nobody Should Own a Gun
by Shifra on June 9, 2016OK, let’s take the guns away from the Secret Service, and from the bodyguards hired by Hollywood elites. I hear sticks and stones can be very effective. Via RealClearPolitics. DNC platform committee member Bonnie Schaefer, a Clinton supporter, said she doesn’t think “anyone should have a gun” at a meeting with fellow members in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. “I do believe that you’re absolutely correct – not just keeping the guns out of mentally ill people and criminals, but I really don’t personally think anyone should have a gun…. ****************************************************

Moonbat Debra Messing In A Mess Over UCLA Shooting Selfie
by Shifra on June 2, 2016Messing deleted the selfie tweet after a firestorm erupted on Twitter. She explained that she was planning the selfie as an anti-gun protest, and was shocked by the “irony” of a shooting that day. But she missed the real irony: UCLA is a gun-free zone. Via Mediaite. Actress Debra Messing apologized Wednesday after seemingly posting a selfie in reaction to the campus shooting in UCLA that left a professor and the gunman dead. Messing tweeted, then deleted, a picture of herself wearing a t-shirt promoting the documentary Under the Gun (itself a source of controversy) shortly after the shooting began…. @DebraMessing People dying…better take a selfie! — Lazarus Stalker (@SaveLazz) June 1, 2016 Ima talk about the senselessness of gun...

FBI: Another Surge in Gun Background Checks
by Tammy on May 4, 2016Thanks Obama and Hillary! Via KTVZ. The year 2016 is still on pace to set a record for background checks for gun purchases, according to new data from the FBI. The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported on Wednesday that there were 2,145,865 background checks in April. That’s the slowest month so far this year, but it’s a 25% increase from April 2015. Background checks in every month this year have made double digit gains over 2015, which had a record number of requests for background checks. If the current pace keeps up, 2016 will beat last year’s record. There’s a strong indication that the April slow-down is a cyclical phenomenon, rather than a sign that the gun craze is over....

Julianne Moore: Gun Control Is Not A Second Amendment Issue
by Shifra on April 13, 2016Um, ok. And thanks, Julianne, for clearing that up! Via Daily Caller: Julianne Moore is doubling down on her efforts to push for stricter gun control. In an essay published in Lena Dunham’s newsletter Tuesday, the 55-year-old actress encouraged women to join Everytown for Gun Safety. “An average of 91 people a day are killed by gun violence,” Moore wrote. “That includes children killed by random bullets, mass shootings at workplaces and universities, intimate-partner homicides, and suicides.” “Women in the United States are 11 times more likely to be murdered with a gun than women in any other developed nation. More than half are killed by a boyfriend, husband, or someone else in her family.” ….“Because our weak gun-safety laws...

The FBI performed 2,523,265 firearms-related background checks between March 1 and March 31, according to the agency’s records. That’s a new record for the month. It’s nearly 35,000 more checks than the previous record set in March 2014. Despite the new record, March saw the fewest checks of any month so far in 2016. The March record is the eleventh straight monthly record for background checks. The unprecedented streak, which began in May 2015, has included all-time records...

Secret Service: We’re Not Allowing Firearms at the Republican Natl Convention
by Tammy on March 28, 2016Too bad. If they allowed it, it would have been the safest convention in history. Via Washington Post. The Secret Service on Monday quashed the hopes of gun rights advocates who were pushing for the open carry of firearms to be allowed at this summer’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland. An online petition in support of the effort rapidly gained signatures and attention in the past week, applying pressure to pro-gun Republican officials and presidential contenders to walk the walk when it comes to guns. But on Monday, the Secret Service said that only law enforcement personnel will be allowed to carry firearms at the event. “Title 18 United States Code Sections 3056 and 1752 provides the Secret Service authority...

Fast and Furious Gun Found at El Chapo Hideout
by Tammy on March 16, 2016I wonder if we’ll arrest the people responsible for arming the worst drug traffickers in the world? Who knows, at this point, how many people have died because of the Obama/Holder scheme to send arms to drug cartels in a obscenely stupid and dangerous fixation on proving *America* as dangerous, and whose guns need to be restricted. Oh sure, they say it was to track down the drug dealers, but no. At the time the administration was arguing that the US was the source of guns for South and Central America, and gun dealers needed to be shut down. They meant to prove it, even if it meant faking the problem. And that they did. Via CBS. One of the...

Authorities say a man with a hatchet who entered a Seattle-area 7-Eleven early Sunday attacked a store clerk and a customer without saying a single word—until the customer pulled out a pistol and shot the suspect dead, CNN reports. Smith & Wesson Sales Soar Amid Rising Gun-Control Worries
by Tammy on March 3, 2016There are many, many signals about the mood of the American people. I noted on Charles Payne’s Fox Business show this evening that it would be a big mistake for politicians and the political machines to underestimate the American people. How we’re reacting the signals that politicians are still obsessed about disarming us should make it very clear to the system that we remain committed to the entire Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment. Via Reuters, HT Weasel Zippers. Gun maker Smith & Wesson Holding Corp reported a better-than-expected 61 percent jump in quarterly revenue, at a time when the U.S. presidential election campaigns and recent shootings fuel fears of stricter gun laws. Shares of the company were up about 5...

by Shifra on January 15, 2016Wayne LaPierre vs. Barack Obama? Mano a mano, er… mano a…um… whatever. Via CNS News: As part of its fight against President Obama’s “aggressive overreach” on guns, the National Rifle Association is challenging the president to a debate on national television. “I’ll meet you for a one-on-one, one-hour debate, with a mutually agreed-upon moderator, on any network that will take it,” Wayne LaPierre, the NRA’s executive vice president and CEO, said in a video posted on the group’s website. “No pre-screened questions and no gas-bag answers. Americans will judge for themselves who they trust and believe on this issue: you or the NRA…. LaPierre said if Obama really wanted to make American safer, he would instruct his Justice Department to...

Black Friday Breaks Record With 185K Gun Background Checks
by Tammy on December 1, 2015Considering the condition of the world and what politicians have done (and are planning to do) to the country, no wonder we’re exercising our Constitutional right to bear arms. I do like this news. It means we’re not giving up. Via USA Today. More Americans had their backgrounds checked purchasing guns on Black Friday than any day in the on record, according to data released by the FBI this week. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on Nov. 27, one of the largest retail sales days in the country. “This was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014,” wrote Stephen Fischer, the FBI’s chief of multimedia productions. “The previous high for...

Bad Advice: John Kerry Tells Israelis Not To Engage In ‘Self-Help’ Against Knife Terror Attacks
by Shifra on October 20, 2015So, Lurch Mr. Kerry: Israelis arming themselves to defend against random Arab knife attacks is wrong. But shooting a bird for sport is swell ? Got it… Via PJ Media: Secretary of State John Kerry told reporters today that Israel has a right to defend itself, but discouraged against “self-help” responses to random stabbing attacks from Palestinians…. Israeli authorities have encouraged citizens with gun permits to carry when they’re out and about, as they can possibly stop an attacker before police can get on the scene. Appearing at a press conference in Madrid with his Spanish counterpart, Kerry again used the recent spate of violence in Jerusalem to call for a two-state solution…. “We continue to urge everybody to exercise...

POTUS: “It’s Easier To Buy A Gun Than A Book”
by Shifra on October 13, 2015Really? Because last time I bought a book at Barnes and Nobles, there was no background check required. Some are claiming that his statement was taken out of context, and that Obama was referring to the lack of bookstores in low-income neighborhoods. But, as RedState notes: How does this excuse his ridiculous statement? What does the lack of a bookstores in low income areas have to do with the ease of which one can buy a gun? This is like saying it is easier for me to get a nuke than it is to get a Burger from In-n-Out since there is a total lack of those restaurants in this region. Via Daily Wire: ….On Saturday, President Obama spoke before...

Video: Ben Carson: ‘Extent Of Holocaust Due To Gun Control’
by Shifra on October 9, 2015Dr. Carson gets it exactly right. And we can expect major Lib head explosions over this one. Via Haaretz: ….In an interview Thursday on CNN, Carson said fewer people would have been killed by the Nazis had more citizens been armed. “I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed,” he said. “I’m telling you there is a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first.” CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer was challenging Carson over claims in his latest book that gun control has historically been a predicate for tyranny…. WH Idiocy Alert: ‘Obamacare Helps Prevent Mass Shootings’
by Shifra on October 7, 2015So, is the WH admitting that there are factors, other than the “refusal of Congress” to enact draconian gun laws, that may contribute to mass shootings? Nah, just another “never let a good crisis go to waste” moment. Via The Hill: White House press secretary Josh Earnest on Tuesday said the GOP’s 2016 presidential field could help fight gun violence by pushing for the expansion of Medicaid. “We have heard [Republican White House] candidates talk about an openness to work with the administration on gun violence,” he told reporters during the White House’s daily press briefing. “Many of them talk about improving mental healthcare,” Earnest said. “One of the biggest providers of mental healthcare — especially in disadvantaged communities —...
