AOC Caves After Facing Lawsuit, Apologizes For Twitter-Blocking Jewish Activist
by Shifra on November 4, 2019Dov Hikind is a Brooklyn activist, and was an Assemblyman for the past thirty-five years. His mother was the only family member to survive Auschwitz, and when Ocasio-Cortez compared US border detention centers to concentration camps, Hikind had a major “head explosion.” Little Sandy Ocasio-Cortez made a major boo-boo by blocking him on Twitter, because everyone in NYC knows: Don’t mess with Dov. D-Day is coming: A Federal judge has called @AOC to testify on Nov 5 as to why she suppressed my 1A rights & I’ll confront her in court for supporting antisemites, and distorting Holocaust history. But I need your help to do it. Do your part by visiting https://t.co/7UTMXpMF2f pic.twitter.com/bdyVSZD4Ja — Dov Hikind (@HikindDov) October 31, 2019...

Howard ‘I Have a Scream’ Dean: Hate Speech Is Not Protected by First Amendment
by Shifra on April 21, 2017Ann Coulter engages in “hate speech” ? Well, she does appear to hate Liberals, so I guess, in failed presidential candidate Howard Dean’s muddled mind, it seems to be the same thing. And, no, Howie, actually, hate speech is protected by the First Amendment. Via Daily Caller. Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean suggested on Twitter that the First Amendment doesn’t protect conservative commentator Ann Coulter. Dean falsely claimed that the First Amendment doesn’t protect “hate speech” while suggesting that Coulter engages in such “hate speech.” (As the left-leaning PolitiFact had to remind CNN anchor Chris Cuomo as recently as 2015, the First Amendment does protect so-called “hate speech.”)…. Hate speech is not protected by the first amendment. https://t.co/DOct3xcLoY — Howard...

Obama Agency: ‘Religious Freedom’ is Code for Intolerance, Christian Supremacy
by Shifra on September 9, 2016“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.” “The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.” — Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass Via Washington Times. The chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights said that “religious freedom” and “religious liberty” have become merely “code words” for intolerance, “Christian supremacy” and committing every form of identity-politics sin, and thus they must yield before anti-discrimination laws. The remarks, released Thursday in a report on “Peaceful Coexistence: Reconciling Nondiscrimination Principles with Civil Liberties,” is the latest...

Gadsden Flag May Be Officially Deemed Racist
by Pat_S on August 5, 2016An African-American employee of a federal agency complained about being harassed by a co-worker wearing a cap with a Gadsden flag depicted on it. The complainant found the cap racially offensive citing that Christopher Gadsden was a slave owner. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is investigating the matter. The flag is connected with the American Revolution. Benjamin Franklin suggested the coiled rattlesnake to be the symbol for the new country. Benjamin Franklin on the Rattlesnake as a Symbol of America I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids. She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance. She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She...

Lib Language-Police Alert: U. of NH Unveils ‘Bias-Free Word Guide’
by Shifra on July 29, 2015Looks like Tammy’s The New Thought Police is alive and well: According to the new “bias-free word guide,” you can no longer say: ‘Going Dutch.’ You must now say: “splitting the bill.” “Caucasian” is also out. Now, it’s “European-American.” And, no more “rich” or “poor.” From now on: “person of material wealth” or “person who lacks advantages that others have.” Because…bias! micro-aggression! Via Campus Reform: “American,” “illegal alien,” “foreigners,” “mothering,” and “fathering” are just a handful of words deemed “problematic” by the University of New Hampshire’s Bias-Free Language Guide. According to the university’s website, the guide “is meant to invite inclusive excellence in [the] campus community.” The guide defines words such as “homosexual” as “problematic,” offering “Same Gender Loving” as...

Student Kicked Out Of Class For Saying “Bless You” To Sneezing Classmate
by Shifra on August 21, 2014And no, this is not from The Onion: Via UPI: Tennessee student kicked out of class for saying ‘bless you’ A Tennessee teenager is claiming religious persecution after allegedly being removed from class for saying “bless you” when another student sneezed…. Here is the girl’s Facebook account of the event: Via MyFox Memphis: No Talking In class? A girl sitting right next me sneezed in class. I said “Bless You!” My teacher (name redacted), asked “Who said that?” I said “me.” She said “Why did you say that?” I said “Because it is courtesy.” She said “Says who?” I said “Says my pastor.” She said “Well we don’t say that in my class.” I asked her why it was a...

The Hobby Lobby Case And The Future Of Religious Freedom
by Shifra on April 9, 2014The Democrats would have you believe that the Hobby Lobby case now before the Supreme Court is really about the Republican “War on Women” and their attempt to deny women access to birth control. However, like almost everything coming out of the Democrats’ mouths lately, this is a vicious lie. No one is denying anyone access to birth control. Under Obamacare, health insurance plans must cover all F.D.A.-approved contraception. The Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, face millions of dollars in fines if they do not provide abortion-inducing birth control, which is in violation of their Christian faith. And Hobby Lobby employees are free to purchase their own abortion-inducing birth control, if they so choose. The real issue at stake...

Political Bite Is Worse Than Political Bark
by Pat_S on January 16, 2011A post by Pat Oh dear, is that the growl of political incivility we hear again? It’s happening between Venezuela and Colombia so Sarah Palin is in the clear. Her critics can’t blame her without admitting she knows where these places are. We are all to feel chastised about volatile rhetoric because a terrible tragedy which had nothing to do with volatile rhetoric made the media hysterical about volatile rhetoric. It may be instructive to see how the problem is handled elsewhere. A Colombian T.V. soap opera depicts the relationship between two sisters, one named Colombia, the other named Venezuela. Venezuela is rather badly behaved. She has a dog named Little Hugo which also behaves badly. Some people allege the...

“Fair Elections Now Act”: H.R. 6116 – Public Funding
by Pat_S on September 25, 2010A post by Pat The same day the DISCLOSE Act failed, the Fair Elections Now Act, H.R. 6116, was passed out of committee. (5-2 no Republican support.) This bill is about public campaign funding. Candidates who opt for public funding would receive 4:1 matching funds for campaign contributions of $100 or less. They will also receive a 20% discount off the lowest broadcast rates. Their PAC money would be limited to $100 per individual per year. The candidate would have to raise $50,000 from within his own community to qualify. Matching funds are for in-state contributions only. The goal is to set up an alternative system of financing Congressional campaigns. Fair Elections funding would be available for primary and run-off...

Targeting Free Speech – H.R. 5175, The DISCLOSE Act
by Pat_S on June 15, 2010A post by Pat The DISCLOSE Act, an acronym for the egregiously misnamed “Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act”, is expected to come to a vote soon in the House. Proponents of the bill want to sell it as correcting the Supreme Court Citizens United decision regarding the First Amendment right of American corporations. President Obama took the unprecedented action of publicly scolding the Supreme Court for this decision during his State of the Union address. He called for legislation to prevent foreign companies from taking advantage of this ruling. The President’s alarm was itself a red herring as there is already existing law, the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1996, which prohibits independent political...

The King is Not Pleased – Corporate Critics Summoned to Explain Themselves
by Pat_S on March 29, 2010A post by Pat No sky falling after the health care bill was passed said Obama. Many executives of major corporations disagree. They are warning the health care law is going to cost businesses millions. That is not the kind of talk the Democrats want to hear so the executives have been summoned before Congress by Henry Waxman to explain. And bring lots of documents with you too. It is pure bullying and intimidation. As awful as this is, it’s no surprise. It could be a gift, an eye-opener to those who still have not seen what’s happening to us. The Democrats are totally addicted to the narcotic levels of power they’ve indulged in. They’re not even bothering to disguise...

Fox Responds to White House Attack
by Pat_S on October 13, 2009A post by Pat The White House declared war on Fox News. Last night Fox responded. Journalists who were attack dogs against the Bush administration are at least raising an eyebrow over the White House statements. I think the concern is off the mark to criticize the administration for poor political strategy. The demographics of the Fox News audience are irrelevant. It isn’t an issue of differentiating news programming from opinion programming. This is a heavy-handed attempt by the government to suppress free speech. It is not a matter to be taken lightly when government attempts to intimidate news or opinion. Of all people, it is a T.V. critic who sees this for what it is. Of course a comparison...

Shocked In Shockoe Bottom
by Pat_S on September 30, 2009A post by Pat Angry activists gathered outside a Richmond, Virginia strip club decrying abomination! and sounding alarm over the deteriorating standards in America. Prudish church ladies? No. It was the NAACP. The self-described libertarian owner of Club Velvet, Mr. Samuel J.T. Moore III, had unfurled an Obama as The Joker banner outside his building. “This country is going to hell in a handbag,“ Moore said, “and the current administration is making things irreversibly worse.“ Mr. Moore is not the ideal champion of liberty. Moore’s club is awaiting a state Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing on alleged violations. Earlier this year Moore was convicted of three misdemeanor charges related to having sex with a minor and another woman at his apartment...

Mr. Wilson and The Menace
by Pat_S on September 13, 2009A post by Pat In this version Mr. Wilson isn’t the irascible man next door and The Menace isn’t a five-year old boy. The media’s version of Mr. Wilson and The Menace is an exuberant member of Congress named Wilson, the Menace is right-wing extremism. The two are not antagonists, they are villains coiled together in a swamp of hatred. The rancorous townhalls, talk radio and tea parties are part of this multi-headed monster. As Juan Williams puts it: It strikes me as something threatening..something angry is in the water here and it could go beyond the moment to, you know, people taking up arms, or attack. It’s extremism at work.” Mitch Albom, Detroit News Something bigger was at work....

Money Talks, Liberty Shouts
by Pat_S on August 8, 2009A post by Pat Dick Durbin and others claimed insurance companies and “people like them” were behind the townhall protests. This was to discredit the angry turnout as manufactured and counterfeit. Today the drug industry announced they are spending $150 million for TV ads to back the White House healthcare plan. Taking the ‘manufactured’ charge at face value, insurance companies are contemptible for acting in their corporate interest, but not drug companies. (Not today anyway.) Shouts of individual Americans who go to townhall meetings are to be silenced while slick big government propaganda may intrude into our homes. Drugmakers ready $150 million for Obama plan U.S. drugmakers stand ready to spend $150 million to help President Barack Obama overhaul health...
