Heartwarming: Dog Walks 20 Blocks To See Owner In the Hospital
by Tammy on February 13, 2015I love all animals, but dogs are amazing. There is nothing like the relationship, and can teach you about what unconditional love is all about. This story doesn’t surprise me, and highlights the true love and commitment the animal world is capable of. KWWL – Eastern Iowa Breaking News, Weather, Closings Video from KWWL. Via USA Today. Dogs sure know to be by their owner’s side in sickness and health. A dog in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, escaped her home and walked nearly 20 blocks to see her owner, who was recovering from cancer surgery, KWWL reports. Sissy, the miniature schnauzer, walked through Mercy Medical Center’s doors and into the hospital lobby, according to the news organization. “She was on a...

‘Stolen’ War Dog Reunited With Injured Soldier
by Shifra on November 16, 2014Bravo, NY Post! Last week, the Post reported the story of injured Army Spc. Brent Grommet and his war dog, Matty. Both were injured in Afghanistan, and Grommet returned to the U.S. with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, migraines, severe chronic back pain and breathing problems. Grommet’s father stated that Matty helped calm the injured soldier’s mood swings, as he seemed calmer whenever he was in his dog’s presence. But, while recuperating, Matty was taken from Grommet, and although he had completed all necessary paperwork to formally adopt Matty, he was unable to locate his dog. The officer in charge of military dog adoptions reportedly told Grommet: ‘I adopted the dog out legally, so there’s nothing you can do about it,’ ”...

For ‘We The People’ It’s *Morning* in America, For NYT It’s *Mourning*
by Shifra on November 5, 2014Once upon a time, the New York Times was known as the “Paper of Record.” Now, it’s known as the newspaper best used as birdcage lining. Or for wrapping fish. Today’s NYT Editorial: Negativity Wins the Senate Republicans would like the country to believe that they took control of the Senate on Tuesday by advocating a strong, appealing agenda of job creation, tax reform and spending cuts. But, in reality, they did nothing of the sort. Even the voters who supported Republican candidates would have a hard time explaining what their choices are going to do. That’s because virtually every Republican candidate campaigned on only one thing: what they called the failure of President Obama. In speech after speech, ad...

You Will Love This! Budweiser’s Super Bowl Ad “Puppy Love”
by Tammy on January 29, 2014Pretty wonderful. Via AdWeek. We hadn’t seen any major breakout hits among the 2014 Super Bowl teasers and full ads this week. But this 60-second Budweiser spot from Anomaly, released Wednesday morning, is destined for great things. It’s a sequel of sorts to last year’s “Brotherhood,” one of the strongest and best-loved Bud ads in a long time, about a baby Clydesdale and its trainer. Sticking with the baby theme, this year’s spot is about a 10-week-old puppy who keeps escaping his own breeder’s home and makes friends with the Clydesdales on a nearby farm… In terms of visuals and pacing, the spot is almost absurdly well produced and directed by RSA’s Jake Scott. The scenes come off as both...
