Video: Police and race participant hold hands, cross finish line together
by rtthorne on March 24, 2015**Bumped Up From TAMWire. Posted By rtthorne** A great story from so many angles. But it’s not news to most of us that the policemen are actually good dudes. No doubt the Obamas, Holders, and Sharptons of the world would have you believe something sinister is afoot. Proud for the officer, the son, and especially Asia Ford. I’d like to see an update about her continued transformation after next year’s race. Via Wave3News: VIRAL PHOTO: Hand in hand, police and race participant cross finish line together A powerful photo from the Rodes City Run is making its way around Louisville social networks. Asia Ford trained for the race for months. Approaching mile five, she began to have difficulty breathing. As...

Ebola Hating Soup Lover Nancy Snyderman Quits NBC
by Tammy on March 13, 2015Appropriate.But will she go out for some comfort soup? Via NYT. Dr. Nancy Snyderman has stepped down from her post as NBC’s chief medical editor, following a controversy that erupted last fall when she broke a self-imposed quarantine after returning from covering the Ebola outbreak in Liberia. Dr. Snyderman drew criticism in October when she was seen in public in New Jersey days after promising to quarantine herself for 21 days. While in Liberia, she had worked with Ashoka Mukpo, a camerman who had contracted the Ebola virus. After an extended absence from television, Dr. Snyderman returned to the air in December, but the incident tainted her relationship with NBC, according to a person close to Dr. Snyderman. In a...

Dr. Nancy “I Want Soup” Snyderman Lectures Us About Public Health
by Shifra on February 5, 2015As you probably recall, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, chief medical editor for NBC News, traveled to Liberia last year, where she was in contact with a freelance photographer who had been exposed to Ebola. When she returned to New Jersey, she was quarantined for 21 days… well, that is, until she was spotted outside a restaurant, getting herself some soup. Via Newsbusters: NBC Turns to Quarantine Violator Dr. Snyderman to Preach About ‘Public Health’ Brian Williams brought on infamous Ebola quarantine violator Dr. Nancy Snyderman on Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News for her take on the resurgence of measles. Dr. Snyderman underlined that “it’s inherently important that those of us who are healthy vaccinate ourselves to protect those who are less vulnerable...

Video: New Yorkers Shrug Off Ebola
by Shifra on October 27, 2014Well, looks like Tammy got it exact right. Yet again. From her Washington Times column last week: Tammy Bruce — It’s the Ebola incompetence, stupid — There’s no Ebola panic, but the public’s measured judgment of Obama’s bungling There are a few things in the world that we know for sure, including the existence of Ebola, what those infected go through, and the fact that, as of now, there is no cure or official universal treatment that mitigate its fatality rate said to be around 70 percent. There is something else, however, that has also captured the headlines that doesn’t actually seem to exist: panic and hysteria about Ebola. If you Google the phrase “Ebola panic” you get 124,000...

POTUS Strikes Again, Says You Can’t Get Ebola On A Bus. Again.
by Shifra on October 20, 2014What’s up with POTUS and buses? We know he loves to throw people under them, but now, it seems just cannot stop talking about buses. Does he have a bus fetish? Or maybe he is thinking about his next career move? (If he wants to live in NYC, I hear the Metropolitan Transit Authority pays pretty well.) Via CNS News: Brittany M. Hughes — Obama Repeats: You Can’t Get Ebola on a Bus—Day After Bus Quarantined in D.C. On Saturday–one day after a bus that had departed from the Pentagon was quarantined on Capitol Hill in an Ebola false alarm–President Barack Obama issued a video message to Americans telling them that “you cannot get it [Ebola] from just riding on...

‘Dr.’ Obama Contradicts CDC: “You Can’t Get Ebola By Sitting On A Bus”
by Shifra on October 12, 2014To paraphrase Obama’s now-infamous comment: The Obama Administration is really looking like one pathetic “Junior Varsity” team. Can’t they coordinate their talking points, so they don’t look like totally incompetent idiots? Last week, ‘Dr.’ Obama sent this message to W. Africans: Via CNS News: Obama: You Can’t Get Ebola ‘Sitting Next to Someone on a Bus;’ CDC: ‘Avoid Public Transportation’ ….“First, Ebola is not spread through the air like the flu,” Obama said in the video released by the White House Thursday. “You cannot get it through casual contact like sitting next to someone one a bus. You cannot get it from another person until they start showing symptoms of the disease, like fever.” Obama also said that “the most...

United Notifying Passengers on Dallas Ebola Patient’s Flights
by Tammy on October 2, 2014It’s about time, and good for them. Seems as though the airline isn’t buying the CDC line that it’s impossible for anyone on those flights to have been exposed/infected. They’ve also released the flight numbers involved in the infected man’s journey to Dallas. Via NBC. United Airlines, which flew Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan on two of the three flights that brought him to the U.S. last month, is trying to notify as many as 400 people who may have been on Duncan’s flights, referring them to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the airline told NBC News on Thursday. United said it doesn’t believe any fellows passengers are at risk but that it was taking the move...

Secret Service/ Ebola/ ISIS Catastrophe Palooza Open Thread
by Tammy on October 1, 2014Here’s the latest on all the crap from today, courtesy of a collapsing, disgustingly bloated federal government headed by clueless, moronic bureaucrats, many of whom would rather be golfing. Secret Service director resigns after security failures Secret Service Director Julia Pierson resigned Wednesday, after a security breach at the White House and other high-profile incidents raised widespread concerns about the safety of the president and his family. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson announced the resignation in a written statement, and the White House confirmed her decision shortly afterward. President Obama “concluded new leadership of that agency was required,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said. I’d say we need ‘new leadeship’ everywhere. 5 kids had contact with Liberian Dallas...

Wealth Distribution Alert==> Free Groceries to Lose Weight
by rtthorne on September 4, 2014**Bumped up from TAM Wire. Posted by rtthorne** Redistribution of wealth? I think so! Why are we throwing money at this when nobody wants to participate? Where is this money appropriated? And it gets more sickening. The garden aspect of this has Moochelle’s hoof prints all over it. Good job Mooch- $7,692.31 per lb for the Travis family to lose 26 pounds. Via WDRB.com: Obesity program offers free groceries but lacks participants It almost sounds like a scam: free groceries for six weeks — but it’s the real deal, happening in Louisville. The only problem is the doctor’s office that got big bucks for the new program can’t get enough people to stick with it. Faybeeon and Jaybereon Travis like...

Food Fight==> FLOTUS Attacks the GOP…And White Potatoes
by Shifra on June 10, 2014In the spirit of giving credit where credit is due: The Dems truly are experts…in mud-slinging. Who could forget Harry Reid’s outrageous claim, said on the floor of the Senate (so that he could not be sued for libel) that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes for the last twelve years. And Nancy Pelosi, claiming the Republicans do not care about “poor, hungry children.” And now we have the always-annoying First Lady, Mooch, who says that Republicans want children to be obese. Via Wall Street Journal: The First Lady’s Calories One reason American politics is so polarized is the White House tendency to blindslide critics with personal attacks that misrepresent their views. This…school lunch drive-by is a classic of the...

Media Bias Alert==> WaPo Reports On WH Pastry Chef Departure, Omits Half The Story
by Shifra on March 19, 2014Searching for articles on the White House pastry chef’s departure, I noticed that several newspapers had picked up the story. In a nutshell, WH pastry chef Bill Yosses, who was hired by Laura Bush in 2007, has decided to leave. The Daily Caller reports that his decision is “bittersweet,” and cites Michelle Obama as having “ordered Yosses to make healthier plates in smaller portions.” Similarly, The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Yosses says that Michelle Obama is to blame. Since she came to the White House, she’s ordered Yosses to cut down the portions in addition to making them healthier. First it was replacing the butter. Then the sugar. “I don’t want to demonize cream, butter, sugar and eggs,” Yosses said....

China to Buy Smithfield Foods? Someone Call Paula Deen!
by Patricia on June 3, 2013Smithfield was founded in 1936 as a meat-packing plant in Virginia; it is currently a multi-million dollar industry and the nation’s number one producer of pork products. The idea that China, with its history of producing tainted products, may take over this American company is alarming. Hopefully, political pressure can stop the Smithfield deal which will face the scrutiny of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, or CFIUS, a government panel that assesses national security risks. From Reuters China’s Shuanghui International plans to buy Smithfield Foods Inc (SFD.N) for $4.7 billion to feed a growing Chinese appetite for U.S. pork, but the proposed takeover of the world’s No. 1 producer has stirred concern in the United States....

No Support For Bras
by Pat_S on April 13, 2013After years of study a scientist (a Frenchman believe it or not) concluded bras do more harm than good to women’s breasts. Professor says bras are useless …medically, physiologically and anatomically” breasts gained no benefit from their weight being supported in a bra” Dedicated to his work, Professor Rouillon has been examining breasts professionally since 1997. What he calls his initial results after all these years is that the bra is a “false need” and women should stop wearing them. Evidently further study is required. He said a principle observation was that the nipple would lift 7mm in a year towards the shoulder in those women not wearing a bra. The breast would also become firmer and stretch-marks faded. He...

The FDA Wants To Regulate Your Body Cells
by Pat_S on August 8, 2012Putting aside the embryonic stem cell debate, there have been amazing advances in adult stem cell research. For example, scientists have been able to transform skin cells into stem cells and then grow heart cells in a petri dish. Skin cells transformed into beating heart tissue, fueling heart failure treatment hopes “What is new and exciting about our research is that we have shown that it’s possible to take skin cells from an elderly patient with advanced heart failure and end up with his own beating cells in a laboratory dish that are healthy and young – the equivalent to the stage of his heart cells when he was just born,” the study’s author Professor Lior Gepstein, professor of cardiology...
