Staff On UK Socialized National Health Service To Receive *Private* Health Insurance
by Shifra on January 17, 2016Hypocrisy, anyone? Via Breitbart: A group of staff on Britain’s socialized National Health Service (NHS), originally hired by an agency set up to help “reduce health inequalities”, are having private health insurance given to them courtesy of the taxpayer…. The Health Development Agency was set up in 2000 to “develop the evidence base to improve health and reduce health inequalities”. NICE, an agency that frequently rejects potentially life-changing drugs for use by the general public because they would cost too much, paid out £3,091.49 last year for insurance for 19 members of staff, according to a Freedom of Information (FoI) requestobtained by the Times. Roger Goss, the co-director of Patient Concern…: “Why should we take any notice of Nice’s vast...

Ancient Mummy Statue Turns Its Back to the Crowds
by Patricia on June 24, 2013An ancient statue in the Manchester Museum spins away from the crowd during the day and is still at night. Interesting that once the 4,000-year-old statue of Neb-Senu has rotated and faces away from the crowd entering the museum it seems to have completed its rotation. From FoxNews: An ancient statue created as an offering to the Egyptian god of death has stumped the Manchester Museum in England after a time-lapse video taken over a week-long period shows the artifact slowly spinning. The strange occurrence was first noticed by the statue’s current caretaker, Campbell Price, who reset the relic back to its original direction after finding it askew, only to discover the statue returned to the wrong direction again the...

Criminal Secrecy Doesn’t Legitimize Government Secrecy
by Pat_S on June 10, 2013William Hague, U.K. Foreign Secretary, made a statement to the House of Commons today in response to British concerns about the Prism operation. He made the following remarks which I fear sum up the insidious logical fallacies of our own government as well. First he claims the government has to operate in secret because the enemies of the country act in secret. He then lavishes compliments on those in the government who are engaged in secret undertakings saying if only the people could know how fine and wonderful they are, the people would feel very confident about the work they do. After saying the government must be secretive with respect to informing its citizens, in this case about an intelligence...

Liberal Disintegration Responsible as Violence in London Continues
by Tammy on August 9, 2011Despite the increased police presence, violence continues and has spread to other suburbs around London. There is no doubt what this is, as I noted on Tammy Radio, it is the result of liberal entitlement hysteria and the collapse of the welfare state fueled, I believe, by international leftist rhetoric promulgated by people like Barack Obama. After all, when the president of the United States keeps attacking “The Rich” and those evil “Business Owners” what do you expect? Here’s the clip I played earlier of two rioters (young women) talking with a reporter about why they’re targeting businesses in their own neighborhood. What they say can easily be translated in the latest Obama speech–blaming conservatives and business owners for their...

Happy Thanksgiving On A Scale From One To Ten
by Pat_S on November 25, 2010A post by Pat Ok, I know they don’t observe Thanksgiving in the UK. I just wanted to make a point. The UK is going to start measuring happiness as a socio-economic metric just like unemployment and crime statistics. The ONS, Office for National Statistics, will start asking people how satisfied they are with their lives including their personal relationships. David Cameron is very keen on this idea. He wants to create a climate that is more family-friendly and conducive to the good life. Most of us would have our happiness index improve if the government would leave us alone. This measure that we are setting out today reaffirms the fact that our success is about more than economic growth....
