WA State Single Payer HealthCare Possibility

WA state socialists are shooting for a referendum to be on the ballot for single payer this fall.

“Concise Description: This measure would require establishment of a comprehensive state program to pay for healthcare for all Washington residents by November 2019, funded by premiums and taxes on employers, individual income, and capital gains.”

Currently, an income tax is banned in the WA State Constitution, unless voted in by the people. But as you see, an income tax will be instituted if this referendum is passed. I lived in WA State for 40 years and during this time, there were several efforts to pass an income tax; all failed as the people (at that time) didn’t trust the politicians not to continually increase the tax.

I’m not sure how the majority now feels about it now, but I would bet, this referendum will gain enough signatures to be on the November ballot at least. So you can bet our leftists in Idaho are watching this effort very closely; this will be coming to Idaho if it passes in WA State.

My suggestion is to move from WA State or don’t ever move there if you currently don’t live there. They are following the KALI model and Reclaim Idaho (a socialist organization, who’s leader is an Idaho native, but lives in NYC) is now gathering signatures to put the expansion of Medicaid on our fall ballot.
