Meet the Smart Meter
by Pat_S on December 7, 2008A post by Pat If you've never heard of smart meters, be prepared. The Obama plan for our economic revival may put one in your house. I'm not opposed to technological improvements to the infrastructure or against efficient energy usage....

Appliance Alert: Your Refrigerator May Be Watching You!
by Shifra on July 10, 2013Ever since Pat_S posted Stay Tuned — Cameras In Cable Boxes Watching You, I’ve been keeping an eye on my cable box. Because I think it might be watching me. Now, after reading the following article, I’m starting to watch my fridge. Because I think it might be looking at me funny. via Investor’s Business Daily: Regulation: No longer the stuff of science fiction, a little-noticed change in energy-efficiency requirements for appliances could lead to government controlling the power used in your home and how you set your thermostat. In a seemingly innocuous revision of its Energy Star efficiency requirements announced June 27, the Environmental Protection Agency included an “optional” requirement for a “smart-grid” connection for customers to electronically...

Maizie Hirono On Dem Difficulty Connecting With Voters: We Know So Much
by Shifra on October 16, 2020According to Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Dumb), the Democrats – the party of “We believe in science and there are 57 different genders,” “unemployment is so low because everyone has two jobs,” “Guam might capsize and tip over,” “When they go low, we kick them” – and the party that Tammy Bruce, in her latest Washington Times column, writes how the Democrats are making fools of themselves at the Barrett confirmation hearings – are apparently so smart that they have trouble connecting with the great unwashed, er, American voters. Because Dems are so “left-brain.” Or because they left their brains somewhere…or something. Via CNS News. In explaining why Democrats seem to have difficulty in connecting with voters, liberal Sen. Mazie Hirono...

Israel Completing Underwater Barrier To Keep Terrorists Out. Because Walls Work!
by Shifra on January 4, 2019Democrats like to say that building a wall at our border is “immoral.” But do you know what’s really immoral? Putting our national security at risk just to score cheap political points. And opposing the efforts of the President of the United States to secure our borders because you didn’t like the outcome of the election. Note from Tammy: Excellent point from Shifra, reminding us of the main argument against the wall by Pelosi and the Democrats. They use the “immoral” argument” because they can’t win on the issue itself. We know historically and via the wall sections that already exist in our country, that they work. Along the sections that have a wall at our southern border, illegal traffic...

Video: Smug Obama Rambles, Mocks People He’s Worked With, Uses Obscene Term
by Shifra on November 21, 2018And another “gem” from an incoherent, er, the “greatest orator of our generation:” “We could have electricity and smartphones and all that stuff which would buy us probably another 20, 30 years for that technological breakthrough that’s necessary,”…. The reason we don’t do it is because we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism, mommy issues.” “Mommy issues” – said the man whose father abandoned him, and whose mother dragged him around to Third-World countries before dumping him on his grandparents. Via American Mirror. Former President Barack Obama used a disgusting term on Monday when discussing officials who do not cower to his demands. While speaking at the Obama Foundation in Chicago, the former president complained about the...

TSA Removing Naked Machines From Largest US Airports
by Tammy on October 20, 2012All that controversy, all that fighting, all that radiation, all that taxpayer money and they’ve been “quietly” removing them for the past several weeks. These bastards put us through so much for so long. Infuriating. Keep in mind, there will now be different, supposedly less naked, more cartoon figure machines in their place. Click through and read the whole thing. Via Mashable. You know those x-ray body scanners that not only expose you to radiation but reveal your nakedness to security agents? That unsettling experience will be a thing of the past at many major airports, because the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been quietly removing them, according to ProPublica. Over the past few weeks, the TSA has quietly removed...

Protecting Cat/Dog Food from Ants
by Maynard on July 30, 2011Maynard’s helpful hint… Darnit, I’m feeding the cat, not the anthill! I’ve just tried one of these food bowls with a moat (to be filled with water or molten lead, whichever is available), and it seems to be working. The one I’ve got here is this Lixit 8-inch bowl. It’s inexpensive and American-made. The inner bowl is about 7 inches across, but the moat gives the entire platter an 11-inch diameter. My Internet purchase from PPE Pet Supplies was processed quickly. Here’s another choice, available on Amazon. This 2-compartment Bergan Bowl costs more and is larger, but people seem happy with it. I believe this is also of domestic manufacture. Ant attacks are mainly a concern when cats are fed...

Global Warming: Threat or Menace?
by Maynard on June 12, 2006(A Post by Maynard) Al Gore has been back in the news lately with his Inconvenient Truth movie. It's worth taking a moment to review the facts and fantasies of the global warming scare. The basic fact is that...
