One Dudley (UK) worker, responding to the order to remove little toy pigs from their desk and any other “pig imagery” because a Muslim employee was offended, complained it was “political correctness gone barmy.”

Fortunately, the oink prevails as the Dudley Council declared they will not accept “extreme forms of political correctness”. Hooray!

While we all still suffer under the horrible barmyness of PC, stories like this should give you hope to keep up the fight, whether you oink or not.

UPDATE:

Like every virus, PC spreads. There is now a report that some banks in England are banning “piggy banks” because they may offend Muslims. It’s now being reported that certain banks in England are banning piggy banks because they “may” offend Muslims. Nolonger will the classic piggy bank be given to children to start their savings, and the will be banned from bank advertising. (HT LGF)

Mr. Orwell would be shaking his head right about now.

Speaking of political correctness…I saw this Drudge link to an ABC news item highlighting a couple of neo-Nazi young girl singers:

This is all well and good that ABC highlights a couple of cute-looking nobodies from nowhere who spout poisonous hatred. Now I wish they’d pick up on the countless stories carried by FPM et al exposing the high-level hatemongers in our elite educational and political organizations. But I guess that’s a bit close to home, and may offend some readers. Much safer to expose teenage blue-eyed blonde Nazis, who have no constituency and present no serious threat to anyone. Rest assured that if these Nazis ever do grow into a formidable and violent political force, ABC will start ignoring them too.

Unfortunately for Britain they do not have a Bill of Rights protecting free speech. If the Muslim population is that devout there are any number of Islamic Republics they can emigrate to. I personally find beheading bound and helpless hostages and posting the images on the internet offensive. I’m sure the ACLU would classify that as free speech though.

I’m curious; where is all this outrage from supposedly reasonable Muslims when Al Qaeda is killing Shias? Seems their courage is reserved for political statements in societies where freedom of expression is protected. Easy to be brave wrapped in the First Amendment!

Piglet and Pooh were my first loves! I guess they wouldn’t have liked the Pooh and Piglet fashions from Sears that I wore as a kid. I feel sorry for kids today growing up in PC world. They must feel awfully smothered.

Or maybe this (Porkopolis) could be used as a comparison to a cross and a vampire? A little bit funny?
