UPDATE: It seems this post has had the “no links” rule lifted for animal stories only 🙂

Oh, the Irish sense of humor. Daisy had farmer Tom Grant bamboozled for awhile. Every night he locked Daisy and the other cows in their shed only to find them wandering freely in the pasture in the morning. A special investigator was called in to help solve the mystery.

Here is the tale exquisitely told by an Irish newscast.

Cow learns how to open gate

Huh, Orwellian fashion?

Was Daisy playing a prank on farmer Tom or is there a bit of blarney going on here?

http://aipl.arsusda.gov/kc/cowfacts.html Kids will enjoy reading various facts about cows, including that the first cow in America arrived at Jamestown in 1611. Until the 1850’s most families had their own cow. Learn about the different breeds of cattle, dairying, and more. Finish off with a cow quiz.

But WHO taught Daisy how to open the gate?

Agent Zero, International Bovine of Mystery, of course!

As I noted to Pat, I think the irony of this video is the peaceful but mischevious cows juxtaposed with the violent rioting humans in the last few seconds of the clip.

I am basically a newbie. Can someone give me the history on how TAMs got into cows? I am not complaining. I am rapidly becoming a vegetarian these days.
Due to the 3 recent cow stories I think we need to take into acownt that these are female cows. Sounds like a woman’s liberation movement is going on among the bovines.
Also a point of protocol…should I lower my flag to half mast during the Cow Anthem?

Daisy not only knew what kept her bovine constituents from freedom, she showed them the way out. She’s the Sarah Palin of the pasture!
