    There was an article in 1/30 Wash. Post that I can’t find the link to; but article discussed a protest/rally at the Dept. of Education on 1/29 led by activists and community organizers around the country protesting closing of schools. (To DoE and Arne Duncan credit, they said that school closings are complicated and of the 27 that the Dept. had recently looked at for possible civil rights violations, they found none.)

    Anyway, the child that was interviewed about these ‘awful’ school closings was a 12 year old from Chicago. They closed the school near him and now he is getting home schooled because to go to his new assigned school requires a 22 block bus ride ACROSS RIVAL GANG TURF.

    I think I see a hitch in the activists’ argument.

    This is why we’ve got to limit the number of people attending the inauguration. In order to protect children, ya know.
