  • When Love Was a Warm Toy Gun

    Sep 13, 2011 @ 2:16 pm - Palin2012

In a way, commercials can tell you more about how we’ve changed than history books. The other day I came across the above 1960s TV commercial on YouTube; it’s for a toy set called the “Gung Ho Commando Outfit” by Marx. And it’s a perfect snapshot of the America that, sadly, no longer exists.

Despite this fact, watching it is hilarious. It is unabashedly politically incorrect, featuring a group of young boys running around playing war games, all decked out in the most authentic military gear a 10-year-old could imagine. It’s enough to make any suburban soccer mom’s head explode.

  • Fascinating Video: How Books Are (or Were) Made

    Sep 13, 2011 @ 8:55 am - Maynard

This is the way it used to be done, boys and girls. Look at those skilled workers and clever machines! Wow! My grandfather came to America and worked in a book bindery.

  • Dennis Prager: Lessons from 9/11? What Lessons?

    Sep 13, 2011 @ 6:22 am - Maynard

    Editorial begins:

In attempting to understand 9/11, the first question asked by the world’s elites — as exemplified by leading media and academics — was, “What did America do to provoke such hatred?”

Ten years later, the same people are still asking the same question. And it is as morally repulsive now as it was then. It was always on par with “What did the Jews do to antagonize the Germans?” or “What did blacks do to enrage lynch mobs?”

  • And The Next Vacation Is.... Australia

    Sep 13, 2011 @ 5:27 am - Joel267

thing 1 and thing 2 are heading down under. The good thing is that the current government is labor so after meeting Mrs. Fletcher they will probably not be re-elected.

  • The Bankruptcy of Soylandra: What Does it Say About Gov't Coercive "Green" Agenda?

    Sep 13, 2011 @ 12:31 am - Maynard

This article gives the background of the Soylandra situation, which has now become a criminal investigation. Where did these vast amounts of money go, and why was Obama and Co. so intent on pushing us into this financial disaster? Who is responsible? Was this simply an investment gone unpredictably bad, or was it corrupt crony capitalism from the start? (Personally I believe strongly in the principles of “Green”, and I try to push my own life in “green” directions. I am very interested in “green” energy — solar, ethanol, whatever — but they’ve got to make the numbers work. Most of the stuff that passes for “green” are just wasteful boondoggles and payoffs, and do more harm than good.)

  • Israel's precarious position

    Sep 12, 2011 @ 4:15 pm - Palin2012

Against the backdrop of tense relations with the White House, the shift heightens the stakes for Israel as it braces for a diplomatic onslaught at the United Nations next week. That is when Palestinians plan to mount a statehood bid, raising the possibility of an outbreak of mass protests on Israel’s borders.

Some Israeli experts suggested that Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, who is set to visit Cairo on Monday, and Egypt’s military rulers could overcome their historic rivalry and cooperate to on further isolating Israel.

  • CNN’s Don Lemon: “[Governor Palin], the Student Has Become the Teacher”

    Sep 12, 2011 @ 2:57 pm - Palin2012

It will be hard for the current field of GOP hopefuls to walk back what came out of their own mouths. They said it but Palin is using it to write her own script and lyrics in just what might turn out to be the presidential campaign of the future.
