Unions Claim California Fruit ‘Is Going to Die on the Vine’ After ICE Raids
by Shifra on March 5, 2018Maybe the unions need to discuss this with Kate Steinle. Oh wait… Via Breitbart. California unions claim that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration raids across Northern California will destroy farmers by causing fruit to “die on the vine.” President of the United Farm Workers of America Arturo Rodriguez has complained that last week’s ICE raids in Northern California, which led to widespread panic, is a threat to California’s agricultural industry. His concerns were echoed by President of the Western Growers Association, Tom Nassif, who told Bloomberg that 75 percent of California’s 2 million farm workers are undocumented (illegal) aliens. The union’s supposed outpouring concern for business came after it was reported that the Department of Justice is investigating...

Federal Agencies Knew Dulles Airport Guard Was Accused War Criminal
by Tammy on June 5, 2016And they tell us we have problems because TSA isn’t big enough, because government isn’t big enough and because the monster of government needs more, if not all, of your money. When the key problem is the malevolence and idiocy of a federal bureacuracy that views the people as the problem and itself as the only entity that matters. This disaster is an update to this story: Anything to declare? Somali ‘war criminal’ is now working security at Dulles International Airport. Via CNN. The local and federal agencies handling American airports could not explain Thursday why an accused war criminal was hired as a security guard at Dulles International Airport despite the fact that authorities knew about the serious allegations...

40,000 Verizon Workers Go On Strike: Here’s How It Affects You
by Tammy on April 13, 2016Via Zero Hedge. Starting early today, over 36,000 Verizon workers will go on strike after the firm failed – after 8 months of ‘negotiations’ – to meet two union’s demands (which merely includes controlling health care costs, protecting well-paying jobs and expanding the ranks of the workers who have them). The strike – one of the largest in years, according to NYTimes – will affect some consumers but Verizon has said that customers will be less impacted because it has trained thousands of non-union employees since last year to fill in for those who walk the picket line. For Background on why the union is striking (they want more stuff), see The Wall St Journal. Here’s a guide from NYTimes...

Supreme Court Deadlock Upholds Public Employee Fees for Unions
by Tammy on March 29, 2016This is very, very bad and an example of the consequence of a SCOTUS without Justice Scalia. When they tie, the case before them stands. That’s what’s happened here when with Scalia we would have dealt a major blow to public employee unions scams and increased personal and workplace freedom. This is the first case decide without Justice Scalia. This makes the importance of the next president even more clear, if it wasn’t already. Yet, some GOP elites still prefer Hillary despite knowing what’s at stake. You may see headlines today from idiot liberals saying SCOTUS “sided” with unions, but that’s not true. This can be revisited with another case but we must have the right president nominate the right...

Chicago Teachers to Walk Out Again on 400,000 Schoolchildren
by Tammy on March 29, 2016At some point shouldn’t we consider everyone in Chicago a hostage? Via Daily Signal. Chicago teachers voted to approve a one-day strike this Friday in protest of “unfair” labor practices, an action that affects about 400,000 public school students as schools plan to shut down for the day. Administrators call the move illegal. “As you may have heard, the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has declared a ‘Day of Action’ on April 1, 2016,” Forrest Claypool, CEO of the Chicago school system, and Janice K. Jackson, the district’s chief education officer, wrote in a letter to the families of students. They added: While there are still unanswered questions about what this day will look like, we know that CTU leadership has...

Union Diagnosis: Obamacare Irony (Income Inequality Made Worse) Bad For Workers
by Pat_S on March 10, 2014It’s been said that humor brings insight and tolerance where irony brings a deeper and less friendly understanding. United Here, a union representing 300,000 workers, has discovered unhealthy levels of irony in the Affordable Care Act. The union takes notice that the Obama administration is trying to shift the conversation away from the health care law to friendly Democrat issues such as income inequality. The irony, as they call it, is that the ACA will actually worsen income inequality. The Irony of ObamaCare: Making Inequality Worse The promise of Obamacare was the right one and the hope for extending healthcare coverage to the un-and under-insured a step in the right direction. Yet the unintended consequences will hit the average, hard-working...

Citing Obamacare, 40,000 Longshoremen Quit the AFL-CIO
by Tammy on September 2, 2013While this is good news in general, the reason the Longshoremen are quitting is because the AFL-CIO isn’t radical enough for them! That’s right, they prefer a socialist single-payer system. Now it seems the union is fighting with itself over the fastest way to hose the United States. Everyone on the left is deluded, now it’s just the deluded versus the extremely deluded. Via Breitbart. In what is being reported as a surprise move, the 40,000 members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) announced that they have formally ended their association with the AFL-CIO, one of the nation’s largest private sector unions. The Longshoremen citied Obamacare and immigration reform as two important causes of their disaffiliation. In an...
