**For A Live Blog Of The Game Go Here.**

As many of you know. I’m a USC girl. I am now watching the Rose Bowl game. I may, on occasion, chime in here with some commentary. It will depend on my mood.

I think this will be an excellent game and while I believe the Trojans will win, I have respect for Texas and believe they have a chance to win, also. I will leave it at that.

LeeAnn Rimes has just done a great job with the national anthem.

Cool! Justice Sandra Day O’Connor did the coin toss! Texas won the toss and deferred to the second half. I have a feeling Justice O’Connor liked that result 🙂

I love us. Happy game watching everyone, no matter who you are rooting for!

Go Trojans! Fight On!

I usually root for Notre Dame, so, this game is sheer enjoyment for me. Not all stressed-out, worrying about who will win. But if I had to pick, it would be Texas, since I lived there a while back. I have no connection to USC.

    WHOA – what an interception!!!

  3. LesbianNeoCon says:

Uh…what’s up with the Michael Jackson tribute by the Trojan band? I especially like the crotch-grabbing! Real classy! It was actually kinda creepy.

Wow! Fantastic game on both sides with so much exceptional talent. I’ve lived in Texas all my life so naturally I was rooting for the Longhorns though my sweetie was born and raised in LA and rooting for USC. We loved it! Hook ’em Horns!!!!

Heh…I also found the Trojan MJ tribute wierd and much preferred Texas’ Beatles trib! I’m not a football fan, but living in SoCal made the game impossible to ignore. Tammy, sorry about your boys, but what a finish, huh?

Personally, I’m a true blue Dodgers fan and can hardly wait for April!

Sorry your boys lost, Tammy. It was a great, intense game. It definitely lived up to, and beyond, the hype. There were a couple of questionable calls (or non-calls, if you will), which kinda soured it a little for me. Vince Young was clearly down, before he tossed the ball to the other guy, for Texas’ 2nd touchdown (I think it was their second TD). And there was a blatant late, helmet-to-helmet, hit on one of the USC guys, that wasn’t called. It damn near took his head off. So, those were bad moments, but I guess that’s the way it goes.

    NOW – – – GO STEELERS!!!!!

Sorry, Tammy, but we in flyover country have only one thing to say: Reggie who?

  8. LesbianNeoCon says:

    Windybon – OUCH!!! 😉

I’ll ditto the “GO Steelers!” comment.

And, Lesbianneocon, the image your ‘duct taping your head conjured’ sent me rolling on the carpet with laughter. Good one! Can I use that in my next book of “1001 Uses for Duct Tape?”

I must tell you that my girlfriend is a little upset, especially after reading that some of the calls were not fair. But life is not fair, I tell her. Let’s be glad for Texas.

I had a friend years ago named “Justice” that just made you feel good for having played a game of pool with him. I will always remember him because you never cared who won, only that you were worthy to play the game at all.

    Tammy,

Sorry your Trojans didn’t win. I was pulling for Texas. If VY goes pro and Houston doesn’t take him, they are really, really stupid. Why wouldn’t take a hometown hero like him? Being from Houston and growing up there, he will put seats in the seats. What NFL defense will be able to keep him in check for a whole game? Draft him and then play him very little his rookie year and then his second or third year then start him. He ran for 200 yards against a very good USC defense. He’s a once in a lifetime talent. If he comes back next year I say don’t even have voting for the Heisman Trophy, just give it to him at halftime of the first game of the season. We all know who’s going to win it at the end of the year, so why wait? They’re going to beat most of the teams they play by 50 points, not score 50 points, beat them by 50. He’ll be out of most games after the first time Texas gets the ball in the second half of their games. They’ll be so far ahead of their games, why leave him in when they’re up by 50 points at halftime? But then again Leinert, Bush and White could go 2,3,4 after VY in the draft.

Hey Bachbone – I wish I could take credit for the duct-taped head comment. But, alas, I must give credit where credit is due. The first time I heard that was on the Glenn Beck radio show. Are you familiar with him? He’s a riot!

    Dear Tammy,

Sorry about that heart breaking loss for you and all of the trojan nation. I must tell you that I’m a die hard Irish fan and the Trojans got screwed in the first half on the blatant no call. Vince Young’s knee was clearly on the ground when he made his option toss to the running back for the touchdown. If the NCAA officials cannot get this replay thing correct, consistantly, then dump the whole thing! Some my call it poetic justice for what happened at the end of the Notre Dame ie: Lienart’s fumble should have placed at the three yard line not the six inch line. But there was no instant replay for that game per Carroll’s request. I just know that I’m sick of the officials impacting and effecting the out comes of college football games. Good luck next year and maybe my wife and I will see you at the SC/Irish game. I love your show and GO IRISH!!!!
